Sturdy Lifelong quality Tool!
Sometimes simplicity is the answer. At first glance, this can hardly be called a tool, given its elegant simplicity. Then again, I guess a hammer properly utilized, is a tremendously useful tool, and shares about the same number of working parts, so perhaps it is! I was looking at a different version of this device, before purchasing this one, and in looking closer, while that one is also very likely great, it had a spring-loaded action. Now, I do not have this that I am about to explain happen often, but when it does occur, I recognize the need that I have for this device. Perhaps just once, or maybe twice per month, I will develop a knot. One of those sore spots, that typically seems about the size of a tennis ball and is generally located toward one side or the other of my spine, by just a few inches. Now, if it were actually on the spine, or very near it, I would definitely not address it with this tool. That may be a bit much for my uneducated touch! However, if it is to either side of the spine, one can very likely tell that it is likely a muscle knot. That is expressly what this is made for, in my opinion. That is why I would rather the tool NOT be spring-loaded. I do suppose that one could easily overdo it, if not a bit cautious, but I rather believe that the rigidity of the device, is of tremendous help. To take the device, and simply push a bit on the center point of that sore area, while working it around gingerly, one can very typically do a good deal toward working that particular, 'muscle knot,' out. This can generally be quite effective. Now, frankly, prior to getting this, I have actually tried baseballs, tennis balls, and even golf balls, thinking that I could lie down on the floor, with the right-sized ball, or on my bed, and then roll up down, or from one side to the other, to locate and center the ball upon the afflicted sore-knot area, in the hope of 'working it out.' by myself. It still seems to me as though that should work quite handily, but it seems to not be as effective as I tend to envision it. I also have a foam-covered roller, that is an excellent tool itself, for more of a spinal self-adjustment. Now, truthfully, while one could (or at least I could) imagine that the careful locating of the balls to align with a sore spot in the back would work, it ultimately never really seemed to. At least not very effectively. While I heartily do believe in the benefit of Chiropractors, I hesitate to go to a Chiropractor more than 2 or 3 times per year, as each time I go, it seems to me that within about a day or two later, I am, 'out of alignment,' again, in the same, or very close to the same place. Now, for maximum effectiveness, you will very likely need to get some assistance, even with the use of this device. A simply locating of the spot, then a slow steady increasing pressure exerted upon the center of the area of pain, can tend to break-up the area, in a way that brings effective relief. Do NOT overdo it! Once that is done, one can follow-up with a bit of heat, or cold, depending upon how long you have been afflicted with the sore spot. This can also work quite well, if you are driving for many miles, and develop some neck knots from the strain of maintaining a position for a bit too long. I could go on, but I fear at this point I digress. This simple device, properly utilized with caution, CAN be an effective aid in one's ongoing neck and back health. Simply be sure to utilize it as I have attempted to articulate, and I do believe that you may very well be glad that you purchased it. I wish you all the best! Good Luck! I do recommend this device!

Relieves tension and reduces pain
I have been seeing a physical therapist to treat tendonitis in my elbow area. She uses a gua sha tool and recommended I purchase one to use at home. Some reviews for stone gua sha tools mentioned that they can break easily so I decided to look for a stainless steel one since I plan to carry it with me when traveling. I found this one by DARKRING and bought it based upon the good reviews and the price.First impressions: it feels well-made and sturdy. The surface is smooth and the edges are polished for extra glide. I'm waiting for massage cream to be delivered so I've used this so far with regular lotion and sometimes bare. It's comfortable to hold and use. So far, it's been wonderful! I use this to scrape areas on my arm where I have tendonitis and my muscles are relaxed afterwards and the pain is reduced. I also tried this on my inner knee areas where I have also been experiencing pain and this tool has helped with that as well. I'll update this review if things change but so far, so good!

Super high quality
I really wish these were on the market in 2011 after my car accident. My chiropractor used it sparingly and I really could have used it on a more frequent basis. Works the best for my calves and shoulders to work out adhesions and speed up healing. Highly recommend
