Finger Builders, Book 1

My daughter is learning piano. Her teacher uses this to practice. So I ordered one on amazon. They shipped really fast, and well packed. She is doing Tune ups C to F now. This book really helped!

Pace Method is a wonderful, an efficient method, teaching the beginner to imitate (follow patterns) and learn how to play in every key, right from the beginning. By the end of the first book the beginner plays in every key and is learning to play in minor keys. It wastes less time and develops competency earlier then other methods. These beginners will not be intimidated by sharps or flats, but will be able to transpose right from the beginning. If used with the creative music book, they are learning to write music before they are half way through the book and will be strides ahead with this method. The books encourage you to work on page 10, for instance - in each book, so that they are getting the concept before moving on to the next page.

I use this with all students.

This book is very important for anyone using the method book, but could also be a supplement to many beginner methods because it teaches the twelve major 5 finger positions over several weeks, first with a diagram and later on the staff. There are other strong points with it, but that is the selling point for me. I do like A Dozen a Day for technique, but it doesn't have that feather.

There is no finer beginning for a piano student than the understanding of how music works which Robert Pace crafted in this brilliant set of 4 books of level one. This accompanies Music for Piano, Creative Music and Theory Papers making a perfect basic text for a beginner of any age!

This book was recommended by my daughter's piano instructor. She is 7. So far, everything is going great. Recommended for little players.

This is my favorite exercise book to use with students. It is challenging, yet not overwhelming. They learn all their "positions" without realizing it. I have been using the Robert Pace method for over 15 years.... every other method book pales in comparison.
