Perfect restaurant shoe
Preliminary review after 3 days of wear.Initial observations: the somewhat-wide Keen fit I was hoping for - a bit wider through the toe box and forefoot than most brands, even though these are a D/Medium size. Tread is not as deep as Shoes For Crews (restaurant industry standard, and a reliable brand) shoes but the slip resistance is pretty good and the tread cleans easier. Construction and materials seem solid. I like the look - kind of plain and simple, and nothing goofy.Concerns: these are very flat, with little arch support - may be okay for me but not what I'm used to working in. Shallow tread siping will be a problem if the tread wears away quickly, reducing slip resistance dramatically, though I won't know for a while, I hope. (If you don't really need a slip-resistant shoe then this should not be a problem for you.) My back started hurting REALLY bad after wearing these for only 8 hours - I've had a sore back and some sciatica before but this time is very different, and I have no idea whether the shoes are a factor - just putting that out there because of the oddly coincidental timing. For the price, I'm happy so far and intend to keep wearing these. Fit is normal in length and around the heel, but a little wide up front, which is what I was hoping for. I will update this review if and when I have anything of consequence to add or any reason to knock off a star.Update: After wearing these at work every day for four months I couldn't be more pleased. These shoes are more comfortable than any of the numerous pairs I've had from SFC, the slip resistance is nearly as good, and they are holding up beautifully. I was concerned about the shallow tread but it is not showing any wear yet. Bonus: the tread is "self-cleaning"- it doesn't collect every bit of anything you happen to step on, unlike the deep SFC tread that is a pain to clean. If these do pick up any debris, I just bang them together a couple times after I take them off and they look clean. Solid shoe, and I will definitely buy Keens the next time I need slip-resistant work shoes, and maybe for casual shoes.

The toes scuffed within a week and my feet ache terribly at the end of the day
I work in an auto parts store. I stand on concrete all day and walk about 5000 steps per shift. These are not the comfort solution I was searching for. The toes scuffed within a week and my feet ache terribly at the end of the day. The insoles in them are thick and would have to be removed to put in something more supportive. So far the stitching has held up and they stay tied throughout the shift, which is better than I can say about some shoes I've purchased. Still looking for the right shoe, though!

Great shoe, needs upgraded laces, but if that is fixed this is a nice looking, retro style, heavy duty shoe that supports well.
The main reason I am returning these KEEN utility shoes is because I work in a restaurant and I need something lighter on my feet. Also, one issue I had with these were the shoelaces...…...all four ends....both ends of each shoelace in each shoe, came apart and frayed to the point that they couldn't be taken out and put back in. After two uses??? That's something that should happen after 3 months MAYBE, but two uses and the little plastic piece that tapers the end of the lace so you can feed it through the holes in the shoe just came straight off. Plus, being on my feet so many hours in a service industry environment, I wanted something with more ankle support.I would highly suggest these shoes to someone needing non-slip, black shoes with some heavy duty nature to them, but wasn't moving around a TON...….because it will wear you out. This is no cheaply put together footwear.....these are made to last.

No more "kitchen shuffle" Unisex Cooks Shoe
I"m a lady linecook, and ordered these in men's 7.5 for woman's 9 size. I made my male coworker's jealous with these pups. They are much bulkier than the other keen shoes I have, but they're perfect in the kitchen. I've owned "Shoes for Crews" in the past and these are way better! The laces have some sort of coating on them so they don't absorb the nasty. And the sole is treated rubber, so deep fryer oil doesn't break them down. (converse don't last long) These shoes have a wide fit that makes them comfortable for the long shifts on the line. I've had them for a few months, and they're holding up great.

Traction is everything
This is the 2nd time I’ve purchased these. I wear them 8-10 hours a day, everyday. Ok I’m an auto mechanic at a dealership. We have a beautiful tile floor in the shop. Looks fantastic, functionality not so much. These are the only shoes/boots that get traction. Oil, coolant, soap. Big plus they can take an absolute beating.

Superbly Built, WP Coating Wears Away To UGLY
Really well built shoes, great slip-resistance. The problem is, the paint layered on the waterproofing rubs off and look really ugly and how do you make them look good again? I wish it were a leather upper that was not paint-coated, and then it would be a five-star shoe. With the incredible UGLY factor it goes to one-star for me. If you don't care about the looks, then it's a very, very good shoe.

Best kitchen shoes
I love these shoes for the kitchen. I work in two restaurants and my right foot is wide so there is plenty of room. I had plantar fasciitis also in my right foot and bought ten dollar Arch supports which healed it. These shoes have almost no Arch support but very durable and comfortable with added supports.
