I got these to lock our garage with extra security whenever we leave on trips. I am a big fan! It def provides extra security when they’re locked- the garage will not open at all!! We installed 2 on the big door that faces the alley and there’s 1 installed on the smaller door we have facing our backyard. I think 1 in each garage door will work on its own! The design is perfect because the holes + spot on your garage door is already set up for these. Installation was very fast and easy. They fit perfectly and they’re built very well. Great value for the price paid!! Would recommend this item.

Bolts should be larger in diameter, but lock itself is very robust. Luckilly I had some bolts around which were equivalent to the size of all the others on my garage door. The self tapping bolts the product came with are bare minimum, and strip out very easilly becasue of their skinny diameter. If you are planning on using the bolts which came with this product, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! The lock body and sliding lock arm are pretty robust and quite acceptable. Luckilly I had some larger bolts leftover from other projects; larger diameter bolts are much harder to strip out by over torquing. All in all I'm happy with the price of the product, and I bought (2) sets.

These items are as described. Heavy duty and I appreciate the long handles so I can put spring Loaded locking clamps through the holes as a theft deterrent. The screws that come with them are also heavy duty, you get 4 for each handle, however it would be nice to have at least 6. All in all, I am still going to give these a 5 star just lacking a few screws but still a hardy install. Regards, Frank.

These were perfect for our needs. We had a situation where we bought a new home and the seller's ex-wife kept trying to break in. These have kept our garage securely closed, and are convenient enough to unlatch from the inside when we need to open the door. The holes didn't quite line up with ones in our garage door, but it was very easy to make some new ones with a drill that aren't visible from the outside. Definitely recommend!

Very good quality. Sturdy and strong construction. Will do the job of locking the garage door down. This worked perfectly on my insulated garage door. The supplied self-drilling screws worked as expected. Best installed using a drill with 1/4 inch socket, also use a good quality metal drill bit if you need to drill holes into the door tracks for the locking bar. Suggestion is to install the locks first onto the door, mark the tracks where the locking bar meets, then drill the required hole in each door track. This way you are guaranteed accurate alignment! Remember to unlock both installed locks before using your garage door opener to raise the door!

After a recent horrible story with an item over $1,000, I thought I'd write something positive. You know what your mother/grandmother said about saying bad things... This item was straight forward. Fits well, easy to install once I got thru my garge door frame. You can use it on either side of the door if your rails allow it. I think if I was to go away for a while I'd feel comfortable just putting a paddle lock thru it and there would easier ways into my home than the garage door. Does the job.
