I use this for dog training and connect a caribiner to the D ring to hold her leash. I added another caribiner around the belt to hold her treat pouch. Perfect

Doesn't let you add sheaths.
The belt is durable and a good design. BUT, I was expecting it to be like a belt that could be wrapped around one's waist and snapped together. Instead, you need to step into it and pull the belt up your legs to your waist. Consequently, one cannot break the belt to slide sheaths onto it.
