This one gets the job done, at a fraction of the price of the expensive pro models!
The Peterson StroboClip HD Clip-On Tuner is a must-have accessory for musicians of all levels, (I'm a guitarist) and it truly stands out in the world of tuners. Here are some of the features that made this tuner my top choice, after a long period of looking over my options:First of all: Price. Look at the price of the larger units.No. Just - No.Guitar/Bass adjustments: Spare yourself the torture of trying to get that perfect intonation with a standard tuner. The strobe tuner will give you what you're after, every single time. I wouldn't even attempt it with anything else.Precision Tuning: The StroboClip HD offers incredibly accurate tuning with a precision of ±0.1 cent. This level of accuracy is essential for musicians who really need to be in tune, especially when recording, or working with other musicians you want to stay friends with! A fine strobe tuner like this ensures that every note is perfectly in tune.Wide Tuning Range: This tuner supports a broad range of instruments, from guitars and basses to violins and ukuleles. It even accommodates alternate tunings, making it versatile enough for various musical styles and preferences.High-Definition Display: The bright, easy-to-read HD display is a standout feature. It provides clear visual feedback, allowing you to see your tuning status at a glance, even in low-light conditions. The strobe display mode is particularly helpful for precise tuning, giving you a visual representation of how close you are to being in tune. It took me very little getting use to.Clip-On Design: The compact and lightweight clip-on design makes it incredibly convenient to use. It securely attaches to your instrument, allowing for hands-free tuning. Plus, its small size means it can easily fit in your gig bag or pocket.Long Battery Life: The StroboClip HD is designed for longevity, with a battery life that can last for up to 24 hours of continuous use. This means you can rely on it for extended practice sessions or performances without worrying about running out of power. (You'll be especially glad for this if you gig or practice like a beast!)User-Friendly Interface: This is a completely intuitive interface, and it makes it easy for musicians of all skill levels to use. With just a few clicks, you can switch between tuning modes and settings, making it a hassle-free experience.Durable Build: Constructed with high-quality materials, the StroboClip HD is built to withstand the punishment of regular use. Whether you're practicing at home or performing on stage, you can trust that this tuner will hold up. Fumble-fingers here can personally vouch for it!Affordable Quality: Given its advanced features and precision, the StroboClip HD offers exceptional value for money. It’s an investment that pays off in the form of improved tuning accuracy and overall performance. I wouldn't be without it, and I'm giving this 5 well-earned stars!

As of early 2025, the Peterson Stroboclip HD is the best of the clip-on tuners
I am just a beginning guitar player, but after switching to a Peterson Stroboclip HD, I can hear a marked improvement in the quality of sound. I had previously purchased a Snark and Fender clip on tuner for use with my Gretsch G2215-P90 and Squire J. Mascis signature model Jazzmaster guitars. I am playing them through a Fender Mustang LT25 amp and using D'Addario XL Nickel wound strings on the Jazzmaster and Stringjoy Signatures on the Gretsch.Using the Stroboclip HD Sweetener setting for guitar, I am finally getting the sound I was looking for.The Stroboclip HD is easy to use and the spinning pattern make understanding how much to adjust tuning easy. I doubt that I will ever use the higher end custom settings but who knows?Bottom line: If you too are a beginner and are looking for a tuner, save yourself some time, money, and grief and go straight for the StrobClip HD.

Loving the Accuracy!
Finally! A very good and most importantly it is extremely accurate. It's a solid clip-on, chromatic tuner, however, I wish the clamp was a little wider in order to fit securely to more instruments. I feel like any quick move could sending it flying. Fortunately,I'm rather a tortoise when required to move fast. I am glad it's not too big and a rather plain shape which understates its capabilitiesTruly exceptional tuner!

Still the King
Remember when owning a Peterson Strobe was the mark of a pro technician? Before the Boss TU's and onwards to the ubiquitours sharks and Shark knock offs? I do. And we learned to tune by ear, that's all there was but we also knew there was a big advantage to the speed, silence and knowledge that especially if we were all using Bosses, that we'd be in tune to each other so we bought them and we bought them all, the TU,s the Korg DT's that put a light show in our racks. However if we were serious about accuracy we went back to the perterson on the bench. Now it's a brand new wolrd of cheap and accurate tuners.I've been through about 3 sharks and the D-addaario compact. The Sharks break and eat batteries. I find the Daddario to be futzy to tune. Neither are sunlight readable AT ALL and two of the main places I play are on the porch and on my boat so I needed an alternative.I've always trust Peterson and they claimed sunlight readability so I splashed out for the Strobo-clip.I'm abolutely having a why didn't I just do this from the beginning moment. It's sunlight readable, not sort of but simply is. Batteries seem to be lasting and maybe because I have more experience with petersons than I do needle or pretend needle tuners, I find it very easy to come right up to the tuning without overshooting and having to start over. It takes a little practice but there's a lot of information in watching the partials as well as the top fundamental ring.A lot of people call this complicated. It does a lot. It tunes just about everything and has several modes but keep this in mind: You push a button that looks like every other power button on the planet and you make a noise at it and it works exactly the way 90 percent of us use our tuners 90 percent of the time. You have to choose to explore the other modes and options or NEED to because you want to find the mandolin or violin setting but if you know that the first string on the cello is A or on the mando an E, you don't strictly have to find any settings tune to either an E on A as the case may be and get on with it. When you want or need a different setting you'll look it up and after you've done it a few times you'll remember the button pushes to get there. Another thing you get from Peterson, is real support from the people who make them and sell them.
