Q: I am looking for a comb hair trimmer for my cat. she will not sit for an electric one. would this work for cats?

i have a small dog, chihuahua/tea cup poodle mis, and the fur around her eyes always gets long and in her way. i've used this comb hair trimmer around her eyes and it works. i do not see why it wouldnt work on ur cat also!

Q: Why no instructions. I don't know which side is which Not even printed on item itself/ can we get instructions somewhere?

Hi Karen, First, you have to learn to read Japanese! Seriously, the instructions, brief as they are, are printed on the back of the paper insert.Just think of it as a comb, One side has equally spaced and length teeth and that side is for tapering and blending the hair. The other side with unequally spaced teeth is for thinning by taking some strands while leaving others. the dial of course adjusts the blades to take more or less hair. Frankly I only use the tapering and blending side and usually with the blade fully out. It takes courage to make the first cut but when you get used to it I just use it like I was combing my hair naturally and it does a good job of a normal hair trimming! Good Luck

Q: Can I cut my own hair with this? I want long layers with soft edges. Would it work if I put my head upside-down?

I use the Seki mostly for trimming, but I am sure it would work for cutting your hair. Just start at the lowest setting and proceed slowly until you delvelop the technique that suits you best.
