Great Filament Dryer (with some caveats)
Overall, this is a great filament dryer with a few areas that could be improved. I'm able to use 4 year old PLA filament that's been exposed to extreme humidity as if it were brand new! Print quality is excellent with little-to-no stringing on filament that previously showed many flaws and stringing during printing. Very satisfied with the overall functionality and capabilities of this unit. I'll continue to use the S2 for drying out and printing old filament, however, there are a few shortcomings I hope are addressed in a future design revision: The lack of an exhaust fan or vents means humidity just builds up in the S2 during the drying process, so the cover needs to be opened a couple times while pre-drying very 'wet' filament to clear out the humid air. Once the filament has been pre-dried, the S2 can be run enclosed without venting...still, it would be great if Sunlu had integrated an exhaust fan. This can be mitigated to some extent by placing silica in the center of your spool, which will adsorb humidity released from the filament during the drying process. The single filament port is limiting as far as how the S2 can be placed. Other filament dryers have multiple ports where the filament can be fed out from (it angles upward, which isn't optimal for filament spools placed above a printer, but works with a long enough PTFE tube run). It would also be nice if they had integrated a PTFE tube w/ fitting, although the stock port does allow a 4mm 'bowden' PTFE tube to fit snugly, so is acceptable for a full dryer-to-extruder reverse bowden setup. Finally, the included power supply has a painfully short cable length....maybe 3-4 feet. I have to use an extension cable to allow it to be placed on top of a double stacked LACK enclosure and connected to a standard height power outlet. Pros: nice aesthetic design & great functional touch screen controls. Highly functional drying of old 'wet' filament. Full-spool heating elements. Silent operation. Easy spool loading and smooth spool rolling action. Cons: very short power cord, only one filament port, no exhaust fan. Angle of filament port may not be optimal for all setups, especially if the dryer is placed on top of a printer enclosure Overall very satisfied with my purchase, but do hope Sunlu continues to improve on their design in the future.

Unobtrusive, effective dryer
The dryer does what it is supposed to do: warm a spool of 3D printer filament at a set temperature to dry it out. The display panel makes it easy to set the temperature and timer, once you figure out the slightly obtuse interface. During heating, the outside of the dryer gets warm but not hot and the sound of the fan is below normal conversation level. The only real quibble I have is that the small footprint of the four legs makes the dryer a little more "tippy" than I would like.

Works Well for Drying and Dispensing Filament
This filament dryer consists of a plastic enclosure, hinged at the left side, with heating elements in the top and bottom. There is a fan in it to circulate the warm air. The display / control panel lets you select presets for the type of material you're drying, but you can change the temperature setting and the drying time. Current temperature, set temperature, relative humidity, and drying time remaining are all displayed. There are green LEDs, for effect, to indicate it's running, but they can be turned off. The display has a backlight that comes on when you touch the controls, but goes out after a few minutes of not being used. There are rollers in the bottom to support a filament spool. This allows filament to be fed through one of the small holes in the top, so you can feed filament directly to your printer while you're drying it. I found this feature very useful. The dryer seems to do a good job of removing moisture from my filament, but based on the high humidity reading on the display, it seems to trap the moisture inside the dryer. I just printed an adjustable spacer to hold the lid ajar a few millimeters. Overall, I'm very happy with the sale price I paid, the performance and the convenience of this unit. I can hear the fan running in the next room, if I listen for it. But it's not loud enough to be annoying.

Great filament dryer.
Works fantastically for drying filament. Just be careful if you put a printed spool in there. If its PLA or PETG it can melt.

When filament is low it tends to get stuck
I wish I could give this five stars but it has one terrible trait that I cannot see past and have been unable to find a solution for. The item works amazing. It keeps the temperature well, has many options, quiet, easy to use. An item I would like to recommend to others but just can’t. It’s one major flaw is that when filament rolls get low (about 20% left) the roll will get stuck in the dryer, catch, and then ruin prints. I kept thinking it was the filament until I realized it was in fact the dryer doing it. This forces me to manually unwind the filament and check on it every 20 minutes to make sure it hasn’t gotten stuck. I have tried several different brands of filament to include Overture, Sunlu and Prusa and all have caught. If I was still within the time range I would return this item but unfortunately I figured it out too late.

Get it. Totally worth it.
Easy to use, nice big touchscreen display and it does what its designed to do. Inhaler a very badly hydrated PLA spool that was printing shredded wheat level prints and after o e drying cycle, it vastly improved the issue. After a second drying cycle, the issue was gone. It also allowed me to remove the old spool rack and print directly from the container which has bearing rollers and is much much smoother.

I have a couple of filament dryers and this one is easily the best, with flexible options and programming for multiple filament types. It even re-energized 8-year-old PLA into perfect printing condition!!! The only drawback is it has one hole to pass the filament through, which makes placing limited (although I don't use it like that, for me it is standalone).

This will topple over and fall if you try to feed filament directly through it. It's 4 legs are not properly secured. I have tried several positions and it has fallen 5+ times already. I finally stopped trying and printed my own feeder.
