An important item to have on your trip to Israel. This journal offers not only a place to write all your memories of each place you visit, it has suggested Bible reading for each site, books to read to further familiarize yourself with Israel and its history, recommended videos, several of which I've seen and also highly recommend. It also has a place for you to jot down areas you've visited that coincide with the maps you can buy as a package of the Travel Guide, journal, and maps.

Not what I expected. Returned with no problem

I absolutely love this Journal and Study Guide! I have traveled to over 50 countries and all the continents, and I generally do a great deal of research on my destination before I undertake a trip. I like to learn as much as possible about a country before I visit so that once I’m there, I can absorb the experience more easily. This Journal and Study Guide that came with my Israel for the Christian Traveler Power Pack will help me educate myself about Israel so that I can enjoy a memorable and spiritually meaningful trip to the Holy Land.It’s always good to take a journal to write down thoughts and experiences on a trip. I usually buy a separate spiral notebook for this purpose. Now, I don’t have to because the journal that came with my Power Pack has 50 lined pages of space for writing. Ideas and questions to stimulate journaling are also included. At the back of the Journal, there is a Study Guide that helps you prepare for your trip by asking you questions about what you are learning from the Travel Guide, but answers to all the questions are provided at the back of the Study Guide so this book can stand on its own. The trivia quizzes should be fun to take while stuck on the plane or bus. They help you practice some keywords and phrases in Hebrew, as well as important facts about Israel. It’s like taking a mini-course on Israel with sections on geographical sites, ancient kingdoms/peoples, culture, history, and vocabulary. The Study Guide even gives you suggested Bible readings for each of the most visited biblical sites and lists them in manageable weekly bites. I will check out the recommended videos too. At the back of the Journal/Study Guide are pages where you can list people you meet on your trip and keep track of expenses. I always forget to do this, so I’m pleased that this was included.I only wish I had this study guide with me when I visited Israel many years ago as a naïve 18-year-old on a summer exchange program. I think I would have gotten a lot more out of the experience. It is a great educational tool that will inspire travelers to fully experience Israel with their hearts, minds, and souls.
