Read all the way to the end to get real world scenarios and useful tips.Intro:I decided a few weeks ago that I wanted to experiment with the IOT a bit. I decided that LED's would be a good start. These were the first set that I purchased and I can say that I am well pleased. They are pretty easy to set up physically; there are plenty of 10 mm RGB connectors of all sorts out there. They can be cut at every 4 inches and every so often there is a solder link where they can't be cut, so plan the lengths of your project around this (All strips are this way). The light quality of these lights is amazing. Very bright and so many colors. They are pretty standard LED's that can be combined with other accessories. The App and Functionality:This brings me to the app and their functionality. Once you figure them out, they work great. Getting them set up can sometimes be a pain. I couldn't get my Google pixel to work to set the lights wifi module up but i used my roommate iPhone and it worked. Then I was able to access the lights again on my phone. So once they are initially set up, you don't really have to touch them. Every once and a while, usually when I leave for a few days, I have to unplug the power supply and then plug it back in again to get them to reconnect. The app is great and allows me to create custom light scenes and groups.Connecting to the IOT Grid:I can automate the Magic Home Pro app and my lights using the IFTTT app. It is as easy as making an IFTTT account and then you can turn on your lights with your voice or when you just walk in the door. IFTTT does not work well with groups of lights or using conditional if statements though. To overcome this, I use Stringify, another app similar to IFTTT that allows you to create more advanced if statements and cool flows and applets. Stringify works with pretty good reliability and consistency, IFTTT does not in my personal experience. You have to make a Stringify flow to trigger an IFTTT applet which then triggers your lights. each set of lights needs an applet for each Stringify flow so it can get to be a lot but once its set up once it works well.Important Tips:Use 12V 2A AC/DC power supplies. LED's only work on DC voltage. These power supplies use 22 awg wire in case you want to modify or extend them. If you use a battery pack (usually 8 AA batteries) you need to turn it off if you are not using it. The wifi module will drain the batteries even if the lights aren't on. Most basic 10 mm connectors work but they can be finicky so try not to put too much torque on them or stress on them when setting up your project. You, or at least for me, end up losing your red color if you don't have the connector positioned right. Multiple wifi modules work great with these lights, they don't interfere with each other and can be controlled as a group. I never use the IR remote with programmed colors, I always use the app. Android phones can use these lights, just setting them up is hit or miss depending on the phone; google pixel cant set them up, samsungs can and iphones can. All phones can control these lights. My Projects:Below you can see pictures from my personal projects. These lights, have made my apartment look ten times better than before. Others have noticed how good they look that my friend also asked me to set up some lights in his basement for his home. I'm looking to expand to other projects and friends' places to set them up with these great lights. You can see in the pictures below the basement project I worked on, the kitchen lighting, and a lighted white board I made from a glass door turned sideways. Hope this comment helped at least one person. Also if you have any questions, the staff at Nexlux are super helpful and will respond very quickly to any questions you may have.

Be aware, these do not work with SmartThings.
I made the mistake of assuming that because these were Alexa supported that I could use them with SmartThings, therefor allowing me to add them to some of my scenes (example: when I come home or leave, they’d automatically turn on/off accordingly with my “Goodbye” and “I’m Back” routines along with my projector). This can’t be done. You can however tell Alexa to turn them off but I worry that if I make a habit of forgetting to turn them off, they die prematurely. What I ended up doing was buying a smart receptacle (you could also use a smart outlet extender) that was supported by SmartThings. So now the receptacle always turns off when I leave or go to sleep. But I can still control them with Alexa or the app.The remote is pretty useless. The one that came with mine didn’t even work, but customer service was great and sent me a new one in under a week. Some of the buttons on the replacement worked but many didn’t.Finally, I installed these on the back of my 120” projector screen and instead of running one long strip, I bought the 90 degree connectors so that I could get perfect right angles on the corners. For some reason, when I cut the light strip right where they indicated, when using the connectors, not all of the colors would work unless the strip was plugged into the connector 100% perfectly. It was absolutely frustrating pushing, pulling and tilting the strip until all the LEDs lit, but I eventually got it after trying way too long.In the end, it was worth it. See pictures. :)

Awesome product with Alexa integration
I like these LED Strips. They work beautifully. I hooked up a Nexilummi GRB connector to them. It works nicely with that connector. Make sure you sure GRB connectors and not RGB connectors. It will not be consistent in colors if you get the RGB connectors. As for the app and Alexa, Alexa does work on it but doesn’t turn on or off for grouping them together because I have my TV and Wall LED separately. You can control both at the same time on the app though. Overall, I am happy with the product. I ordered 2 of them and got them hooked up no problem. Just need better instructions for finding on the app. To connect the LED to the app, it needs to be in restore mode. To get to restore mode, unplug and plug the power adapter and wifi Adapter until the LED flashes in different color then go Settings in phone to connect via wifi host of the LED. Go back to Magic Home app and add device. That should be common sense afterwards. Remember, to get to restore mode, you’d have to keep unplugging and plugging the 2 adapters until the strip flashes.

Fantastic brightness and color selection
I love these lights! I'm in the Navy and put them in my stateroom around all the piping and in the overhead. Really lends a Thailand whore house vibe to my room. I basically just turn on the fade option using the remote and leave it on all day. I haven't used the app yet to try to change them. I can concur that any IR remote will cause the lights to change. If I hit channel up on my TV remote the lights will change to the strobe light function. These get 4 out of 5 stars for a few reasons. The 4 pin adapter that they provide to plug into the power unit barely stays in the power unit. Not a huge deal and I could probably fix it when I get some free time. Also I haven't stuck them permanently to anything yet because I will install them when I get home so I can't judge how well they will stay affixed. Lastly I haven't been able to check if they work with Google Home. Once I can review these last few aspects I will either change my rating or keep it the same.
