Fire Vida Ingleton Fire Screen/Spark Fire Guard, Metal, Brass

The first item arrived with alot of scratches on the top panel and big dents/misaligned sides. I saw from the feedback that a few customers had this issue. I wanted to give them one more chance. Returns via Amazon were a breeze and the new item arrived 2 days later via Prime delivery. I had a month to return the old one.The new item had some light scratches (that I can ignore as not too visible unless you go very close) but the dents/misalignment was gone.Inspect the item carefully and hold onto the box. If any issues, return to get another. If that is the same, please look elsewhere as I have seen it available a few pounds cheaper elsewhere online.The item does look good and received a few complements from guests as it matches my golden fireplace border and edging.

The guard was faulty and was replaced readily. The guard has more cosmetic qualities than practical ones.We have burn marks on the carpet as there is a gap between the bottom of the guard and the hearth, gap being enough for you to put your hand under. Sparks can shoot under the guard and we have experienced spits from the fire actually sending sparks over the top.Decided to buy a second guard that fits snugly over the grate, for when we are leaving the fire unattended.The guard looks really nice and enhances the general appearance and is used when the fire is just glowing to stop the dog getting too close .

Bought this brass guard because I have a brass fireplace, and it certainly looks good with it- no complaints there. BUT.......the whole guard (and there are many components) is held together only by the two threaded finials, and after a week of unfolding to use, and folding to put away, the finials became loose without my noticing, and the guard just dropped to pieces. To put it back together again is a most difficult, frustrating, time-consuming job, and to be tackled only if you have the patience of a saint!! Suggest the manufacturers do some thing to ensure that once the finials are screwed down, there is some way to fix them so that they don't move

Very nice fire screen, however I should have checked measurement prior to ordering. Small and compact , but not as high or long as i thought , however it will do the job . Nice design and price.
