It’s a valuable tool
I was concerned about radon in my home and it wound up that these tests proved that there was an issue with radon. Once knowing that you have a problem, you can rectify it and save health issues down the road. Definitely something you should get to give yourself peace of mind.

2 pack?
The product description and picture says it is a pack of 2. That means to me that I would get 2 test kits. I only received 1 kit. Why?I paid more for this because it was advertised as a pack of 2.

Quick, professional results, but read the directions
I live in an area known for high levels of radon, and I had been wanting to have the levels in my 70-year-old house checked. This kit seemed like a perfect opportunity. The kit comes with the charcoal radon sampler, a return mailer with label, and detailed instructions. I went to their website to enter my kit and test information. And therein I ran into my first obstacle:* The kit must be placed several feet above ground, away from doors, walls, and windows. All windows must be closed for 12 hours before starting the test. This might not be a problem for many people, but the kit arrived when it was about 90 degrees. We don't have air conditioning because it's not supposed to get that hot here, so of course all the windows were wide open. Fortunately, one bedroom was unoccupied so I closed all the windows, planning to start the test the next morning. The next morning arrived, and I realized I was supposed to take the detector out of its cellophane wrap before starting the test. Except -- second obstacle -- I had not seen that wrapper. Had I removed it without realizing what I was doing? Oh, always possible, but there was no wrapper in the mostly-empty trash. So either mine arrived without a wrapper or the heat had fried my brain, or possibly both. At that point I was committed to the journey and I placed the kit on an elevated flat surface in the bedroom.Approximately 96 hours later, I retrieved the test from the empty room, placed it in the mailer for the mail carrier to pick up, and opened the windows.Three days after that, I heard from RadonScreen: my test was incomplete because it was missing the number of hours exposed. I realized I had not remembered to log back in and note the stop time, so I corrected that and soon thereafter got my reading: between 2 and 4. Which translates into "you might have a problem; you should run another test."Now that I've done it once, I kind of know what I'm doing and will be better prepared the next time. I'm not very good at absorbing detailed directions, so if there's someone at your house who likes that kind of thing, I suggest delegating the important task of reading the instructions. Other than that, communicating with the company was quick and clear, their website user interface is straightforward, and I have no concerns about ordering another kit from them.
