Medical boot 1 German Shepherd 0
My German Shepherd, Mia, on her fifth birthday, sliced open her paw, and after various visits to the vet, something had to be done to keep her from licking her wounds. The wraps at the vet had given us were practically useless as Mia would rip them off, and begin to lick and remove the stitches from her paw. After the second time, she was able to remove her stitches. I decided that something needed to be done. I saw this medical boot on Amazon and as I was a little weary that it wouldn’t be able to withstand Mia I bought it anyway and I am so glad that I did because this was the only thing that kept Mia from licking and reopening her stitches. She couldn’t understand how to take it off which was great so her paw was able to heal nicely, and now she is running around as rambunctious as ever after finally getting her paw to heal all because I put her in a medical boot for her recovery. She also loves splashing in puddles with the medical boot, and it was able to keep her wound and stitches, virtually dry, and that is a real challenge when it comes to Mia so that was more than a relief when I realized that this boot was also pretty water resistant.

Don’t waste you money
This stuff is all useless. The one size fits all doesnt work and tryng to put it on an ailing dog is painful for you and the dog

Not totally waterproof.
Took my dog out to potty after it rained. Dog was on leash and it was a quick out & in trip. Maybe 5 minutes or less. The wound wrap on dogs paw was slightly damp. Wrap wound with cling wrap under this to keep the vet wrap totally dry. Easy to put on and off though & protects cling wrap from being punctured from a stiff blade of grass. Ultimately pet wounds are a total pain but this does help to keep paws clean when going outside. I just wish it had a little better waterproofing.

Keeps foot dry
Worked well to keep foot dry when my dog had a full cast on that covered her foot. I could easily slip this boot on when I took her outside to potty. Much easier to put on than the stretchy boots. Velcro straps held it in quite well. Sizes run small, I had to get a bigger one

These have really great potential with tweaking...
There is a rather dramatic shift from Medium to Large. I have a greyhound so I need something really narrow and tall. The Large gets the right height with a bit too much diameter (and way too much velcro), while the medium gets a better diameter (a little too small actually) but felt like less than half the height of the large, which made it completely impractical for me. There are plenty of medium and large breeds that are tall and aren't built like tanks... A tall set of sizes and a short set of sizes would be amazing to me, but may make things too niche. Setting aside the size range oddness, the velcro really is annoying. I ended up tying a couple of knots in each band of the velcro in order to adjust it down to my dog's slim leg. Considering all the complaints I am seeing in the reviews, something could really be done to vastly improve the line of boots by doing some combo of the following: A- make the velcre either longer so that a double wrap could be possible where necessary OR shorter because even simply filling the volume of the large boot with a cylinder still left too much velcro to actually secure the boot to the cylinder. B - even out the proportion of hook side to loop side to be closer to even so that there is more of a chance for the two sides to catch against each other C- replace the velcro altogether with something less stretchy because there is way more give in the current length than can be used to actually wrap up a paw. Critiques aside, this is much easier to use and kinder on my pet's skin than a lot of other products I have had to try out during an extended recovery process in wet weather. I still use a sock with this boot because (lucky me) my dog's skin chafes that easily, but I appreciate how well these boots are balancing the competing demands of being lightweight, protective, durable, and comfortable. I think it is doing a really good job with that balancing act. I am impressed with the durability! Tweaks to the velcro would make this aces.

Wears out quickly
After just 4-5 very short walks, the boot is wearing quite a bit and doesn’t really keep out moisture. Disappointed.

Keeps the paw pad dry
While our Golden Retriever was outside, he cut a deep flap in his back paw pad. Our vet said there is nothing you can do for the pad other than keep it clean, dry and some Neosporin. After wrapping it for 9 days he graduated to the recovery boot (found on Amazon) for in the house and this waterproof boot for outside. After two weeks he only needs this boot for outside. It is flexible, easy to slide on and has a double velcro closure . I've had no trouble with it coming off. It is keeping him dry in the rain and now the snow. Our GR is very active and has zero tolerance for anything put on him but he will wear the boot. But after a week and a half of the cone, he is just happy to only have to wear a boot. He is a large tall golden, about 86 pounds and wears a large. I bought a second one in case something happens to this one because this is going to take weeks to heal. The price is great especially when you are searching for anything for your dogs paws.

Best Bootie Thus Far
I have a lab mix who has managed to hurt her paw 3 times in less than 2 months. 2 different paw pad injuries requiring wrapping and to keep it dry and clean and one broken toenail. She is VERY high energy and strong. She has literally run right out of other booties and most break down after less than a week when taking her out for short walks multiple times a day. So far, she has only run out of this one once (trust me, that's impressive!) and it isn't showing similar wear to past brands. I just bought several more to keep in rotation as I'm sure this won't be the last foot injury she gives herself. Like others have said though, this isn't 100% waterproof so take measures to waterproof if needed.

Sadly, misleading photos (no doubt just poor shots, not anything underhand) meant that the product was chosen for the wrong reasons and didn't do the job it was purchased to do. Sent it back.

I bought the boot to use throughout the day for my dog's hotspot on his rear paw. At night he wears the cone but this gives him a break during the daytime. After cleaning and applying ointment, I place a non stick gauze pad over the sore and cover with boot. I ordered a large for my wheaten terrier and fit is ok but think medium would have been better. Happy with boot and my dog seems comfortable with it too.

Complete waste of money! This was $25 and it broke after two walks. Thought it would be better quality, the bottom doesn’t even have grips or any rubber bottom so it’s not even waterproof when walking in the snow or wet ground.

I see how this would be useful but because of its shape, it really is only useable for front paws. Because of the shape (longer and angle) of back paw, it didn’t fit. Had to use a poop back with self adhering tape instead.

Fits her, wish the material was a little heavier, so it could handle outside. She can manage to get it off if she hides, not sure anything can be done with that. Serves purpose though, her pads are healed mostly, just need to figure out why she keeps stripping them off.
