Yes it works with all 5 ,7, and 10 mm type grass. I'm sure it will work on 12 mm

It does come with 2 pouches. But it's not the best looking static grass. Woodland scenics sells better looking types. Just sayin.

when using this, does the grass stick up? If so, how much and how reliable?

It does but you need to stick a nail or piece of metal Rod in the base you are covering to attach the alligator clip to in order to ground the dispenser. That’s what makes the grass stand up.
