Aqara Zigbee Door and Window Sensor 3Pack, Aqara Hub Required

I ordered this 3 pack of Aqara contact sensors to replace my rather old outdated Alarm contact sensors - The sensors are amazingly small and just look so much better than our previous door contact sensors. Pairing with Z2M in Home Assistant was super simple - recogised straight away - there is no delay in the contact sensor reporting to Z2M, it's instant! Super happy with these and would highly recommend them to others - pricey compared to TUYA zigbee sensor, but hey are great quality!

I've been using these for years and bought some from the competitors as well from the similar price range. This is way better, not even a challenge. Faster, more reliable, never misses an event and battery lasts actually for years. Use it via an Aqara hub or set it up directly via Home Assistant's ZHA or Z2MQTT. Either way, it promises little but holds up for every promise without any compromise. Worth even the full price tag but you can get them cheaper during sales.

Neat/compact and fast. Used with non Aqara hub. Took a couple of goes to register it with my hub, which is par for the course if you use a non Aqara hub, but pretty painless really.

Need hub to work. Setting alarms and phone notifications is possible but needs some digging to get rhere

These are decent value as they were easy to fit and setup was a breeze with HomeKit. I now have a pseudo-home security system with push notifications if any windows or doors are opened while we are out.

Got 8 of these all around the house working different automations they work great and are Zigbee so you don’t need Aqara’s hub I’m using HA with Zigbee and these work well

Would give zero stars if I could. They connected to Home assistant over Z2MQTT fine, but constantly loose connection after an hour or so with no updates even after waking them and even though they still show as online. Save your money and look elsewhere...

I use these in Home Assistant via a Sonoff USB Zigbee dongle. Originally, I was using the budget Sonoff magnetic sensors, and they were a bit hit and miss as to whether they worked or not - they're also quite ugly! These Aqara ones are so much nicer looking, smaller, and so much more responsive than the slightly cheaper ones I was using. Highly recommended. And no, they don't need an Aqara hub, but they do need a hub that supports Zigbee.

Acheté en octobre 2024 pour 44,79€, j'ai équipé mon logement de ces petits espions d'Aqara : porte-fenêtres, fenêtres ou porte d'entrée, tout y est passé. Autant vous dire que mon chez moi est maintenant plus surveillée que Fort Knox ! 😄 L'installation ? Un jeu d'enfant ! Les autocollants double face fournis font le job parfaitement. Si vos ouvrants sont assez épais, vous pouvez même poser le plus petit élément sur la tranche. La détection se fait de face ou à 90°, avec une distance max de 2 cm. Côté réactivité, ces petits bijoux sont plus rapides que l'éclair ⚡. Ouverture, fermeture, tout est détecté en un clin d'œil. Fiabilité 100%, pas de faux positifs ni de ratés. C'est du solide ! Maintenant, parlons autonomie. Les piles d'origine semblent s'épuiser assez rapidement, avec une baisse de 10 % en moins d'un mois. Bien que cela puisse être un problème avec les piles fournies, il est possible que d'autres modèles sur le marché offrent une meilleure autonomie. Pensez donc à prévoir des piles de qualité lors du prochain changement. Pour l'intégration, c'est un sans-faute. Je les ai branchés sur mon setup de pro : passerelle Zigbee 3 Sonoff, Raspberry Pi 3B, et Home Assistant. Ça fonctionne comme sur des roulettes ! Les possibilités d'automatisation sont infinies. Vous pouvez transformer votre maison en véritable assistant personnel : rappels d'ouverture de porte, coupure du chauffage quand une fenêtre est ouverte (adieu les factures astronomiques !), alertes si une porte ou fenêtre est ouverte quand vous partez... C'est comme avoir un majordome invisible ! 🎩 Niveau design, ils sont simples, élégants, avec des tranches nettes et des coins arrondis. Sur des fenêtres en PVC blanc, c'est discret ! En conclusion, l'Aqara Détecteur d'Ouverture, c'est le Batman de vos fenêtres : efficace, discret, et toujours là quand il faut. Certes, il a un petit problème d'appétit côté piles, mais hey, même les superhéros ont besoin d'énergie ! Pour les amateurs de domotique ou ceux qui veulent simplement savoir si leur ado fugue la nuit, c'est un must-have.

Two weeks in, running through HomeKit via an Aqara G410 doorbell as the Zigbee hub, with zero missed notifications or failed automation triggers so far. Aqara doesn't sell a security system, so this is a pure contact sensor: it reports open or closed and notifies you on status change, based on whatever alert settings you configure. Ease of use: setup is simple with one exception. Don't pull the battery-isolating tab and try to pair right away. Pull it, wait about a minute, then start pairing on the hub. Skipping that wait is what caused mine to need a couple of extra attempts before the doorbell recognized them. Once past that, adding them to HomeKit and building automations around them was straightforward. Battery life: too early to say. Two weeks isn't enough runtime to speak to this honestly, so I'm leaving it out rather than guess. They're small enough to disappear on a door frame, and the adhesive holds well enough that repositioning one lifted a thin layer of paint. My apartment's frame has decades of paint on it, so that's more about the frame than the sensor, but the adhesive is genuinely strong. I'd previously used Ring's contact sensors as part of a full Ring security system. The difference is scope: Ring's sensors are one piece of a monitored alarm setup with a siren option. These Aqara sensors don't do any of that: no monitoring plan, no alarm, just the open or closed signal feeding into HomeKit. If you want a sensor to build your own automations around, this does that well. If you want an actual security system, this isn't one. Pros: -Compact, barely noticeable on the frame -Simple HomeKit pairing once you follow the wait-before-pairing step -Two weeks, no missed events or automation misfires -No extra hub cost if you already own an Aqara doorbell hub Cons: -Pairing can take multiple attempts if you skip the post-tab-removal wait -Adhesive is strong enough to lift paint on repositioning (as evidenced in one of my photos) -Zero security-system functionality: sensor only, no monitoring or siren Bottom line: A solid, low-profile contact sensor for anyone in the HomeKit or Aqara ecosystem who wants open/close alerts and plans to build their own automations. Not a replacement for a monitored security system like Ring's; different category of product entirely. Still open: got a photo to attach? And if you want to circle back and add a battery life note after a few more weeks of use, that's an easy edit to the posted review later.

Good connectivity and accuracy. It was easy and intuitive to add these to the Aqara hub and as secondary devices to HomeKit. The only issue I had was that two of them would not show as closed when installed on outer metal doors, and the adhesive strip did not allow repositioning. I added an extra layer of my own adhesive tape between the door and the sensors and they worked. The battery life has been great after a month.
