Simple to set up and operate the way you need!
This does everything is says it does, and for quite a lot less money than some comparable models. Customizing the output is simple using the barcodes in the included manual. If you're curious (like I was) you can look up the model number and download the manual from the manufacturer's site ahead of time. The picture here on Amazon shows a USB Type-B connection at the hilt of the scanner, but the one I received is a bit more modern with a Type-C connection. That connection will charge the scanner when plugged into any brick, but will also connect for data when plugged into a computer. If you don't want the cable, the wireless dongle (marked "DONGLE" to avoid any confusion) works just fine. There's a spot to store that piece in the hilt too.

Great Basic Scanner
Does everything my little shop needs & QR codes. I found it particularly entertaining that the instruction manual is written mostly in bar code. You scan it to change settings, check battery, alter volume, and more. The wireless capability is especially freeing. We can scan items into our PoS system from all over the shop. It's just a nice little scanner at a good price. We'll see how long it lasts. But it was inexpensive enough that if we only get a couple years out of it then fine.

Ready to go and works well
The Tera 1D2D Barcode Scanner works great for the school library program I use. I am able to move at least 18 feet away from my computer to check books in/out and do inventory. It even reads old barcodes with no problem. There was no set up. It is ready to go. The battery is long lasting (I used it all week without recharging). My school would not buy me one due to cost. This was affordable enough for me to buy myself. The best thing is not getting a cord wrapped around your foot and tripping. IYKYK!

Not bad for the price
This is great at reading large barcodes, but I needed it to be able to read small barcodes and qr codes on nVME drives and it does not do that at all. For those who don't know, an nVME drive is a drive for a computer that is roughly the size of a stick of gum. These drives often have multiple barcodes and qr codes on them. I tried from varying distances and angles but it is simply incapable of scanning them. I am disappointed but I guess I should have known it wasn't something I was going to get out of a device this price. *******EDIT******** I have to amend this. I did a little more troubleshooting and tried to do my settings again. I had needed Code 11 for the small barcodes and Micro QR code for the small QR codes. I had scanned them previously, but I guess they didn't take because after I scanned those settings again it started working. Funnily enough, it's the vibration setting it won't take. Either that or vibration isn't working. That isn't as important to me. The things this does seem to have some difficulties with are codes on rather shiny surfaces and larger barcodes. It's doing what I need it to now so I'm all good.

A little glitchy
My business is just getting started with UPC codes so I needed a scanner. This one will scan ok, but I need to unplug it and plug it back in way too often. Glitchy, but okay.

Great Scanner, decent modification to the settings with their manual and reliable.
This scanner is great. Shows the battery level actively in bars so you'll know when to charge it, you can make it silent with no beep, make the beep quiet, loud etc. You can set the time to change how long it will be turned on for after activating it to make sure its either on long enough for constant scanning or to make sure it's not pointlessly draining the battery after scanning one thing. I had one problem with the barcode adding parentheses around the first two digits (Always with 10 for some reason showing up as (10)0708 etc and I reached out to their support email and got a quick response with a resolution to solve that issue. Overall satisfied with the scanner especially after they helped to fix an issue I had with it.

Tera scanners cannot add items to shopping carts.
The product description is misleading as it only mentions the D5100 not being compatible with Square POS but fails to clarify its compatibility with other POS systems. This ambiguity can mislead customers into assuming it would work with other POS systems when it will not. If you are in need of a POS scanner, search elsewhere. Response from the manufacture: Thank you for your message. We regret to inform you that all our scanners, including the D5100, are not compatible with the PayPal Zettle app. The D5100 operates by emulating keyboard input, which allows it to scan barcodes into text fields like "Search" or "Add Product." However, it cannot add items to the cart, as that function requires deeper integration and communication between the scanner and the app. We recommend checking with the software provider for a list of officially supported barcode scanners.
