Works exactly as advertised, we live in south floridaand heat our pool to around 88 deg year round. The pool is self cleaning with almost no maint except trowing a couple chlorine pills in the skimmer weekly. Now recently chlorine pill have doubled in price lately combined with us always having too high cna levels in the pool prompted me to look at a better solution. Boy did we find it with this. With the pills we had to keep the chlorine level over 5 to keep the algae in check, and also add a lot of expensive algaecide. We now just throw this in the pool and it automatically keeps the algae in check, and we stopped using chlorine pills altogether, ( saving us around $300/yr in chlorine pill costs at todays new prices, ($220 buck a bucket now).We do need to shock the pool a little more often now with cal-hypo shock, ( which has no cna in it). And pour in about 1/2 gallon of liquid chlorine per week, just to make sure we kill all the bacteria nasties.We used to have a different silver ion system yrs ago called natures 2 or something like that but it ended up being very expensive, and we still needed the chlorine pills and algicide.The only question I have for the company is do the copper anodes contain any silver, ( so they can also kill bacteria sufficiently) .Currently just to make sure I am still getting silver ions into the pool I’m wrapping a small amount cheap pure silver wire around the copper anode, to insure I’m getting enough silver to sanitize the pool properly. At least until I know the formulation on the copper anodes, ( not detailed enough in the supplied info).Bottom line I’ve reduced our Chlorine and chemical usage 90%. We now run the chloring at .5 verses 5 and have a clean algae free pool.We have reduced our operating costs down to around $.25 cents/ day ( with a very expensive variable speed pump, and solar heat panels) add in around $50 bucks in chemicals now that comes out to around $150 dollars a year to operate everything, ( used to be around $2.75/day or around $1000/yr).Definately worth learning all there is to know, and what is available these days.With a self cleaning pool, ( paramount system, and this new gadget floating around the pool we literally have no maint, ( we do nothing, just use the pool every day).I’m impressed.

Copper is eroding so I assume it’s working.I do wish there was some indication though, like a small LED light or something so I could know for sure.Was packaged safely, but not much info other than a flyer included.Time will tell I guess….

So I’ve had this unit in my pool for about a month and a half now. I have added 2 gal of chlorine to the water (10,000gal pool). I had to clean algae off the wall that is mostly in the shade a few times. However…. The water has stayed crystal clear. I would like to give the credit to the ionizer because before the ionizer my pool would cloud-up more often than not. It has not clouded up since I dropped this in the water. I’m amazed how clear the water is. I’m happy with it.

This has been in our pool for two months now and no signs of algea growth in our 8k gallon pool. I just keep a 3" chlorine tab in the floater and the water is crystal clear. I clean the copper rod and spring with the included wire brush once a week.

I've had the unit for a few weeks now and I can't get the copper level above 0.1 using the test strips. I think its working but not to the lever I would like to see. I only have a 15,000 Gallons,

What a saver..First off: price ofchlorine tablets Have got up 400%! to save with this unit is fabulous !I noticed it warms the water a little as well.It started working right away I have quite a bit of sun in my area and is extremely helpful.Pool is crystal clear.
