Snappy Flat Bottom Counterbore Countersink 1/8in. Drill Bit x 3/8 Bore USA Made

Counterbore did great. Just what was needed.

I like the counterbore for cutting a flat bottom hole, so my bolts don't extend out. Makes a clean cut. The 1/4" hex shaft makes it easy for using in the drill or an impact driver.

Product makes a nice, flat countersink in wood. Worked perfectly for my project.

This tool is sharp and cut nice counterbore holes in the Ikea particleboard I've been cutting. But this tool also did not come with any kind of tools too, so I needed to fabricate my own. I did like how the scraps cast nicely away from the cutting area, making this tool easy to use.

I think it will work very well for my intended usage, to counterbore a raised tower on my Intake for clearance. I'll have to make a smooth guide, but that fairly simple.

These are very handy. The 1/4 x 5/8 and 1/4 x 3/4 sizes are perfect for use in attaching either plywood or 1" nominal boards to concrete or steel where you want a flush look. A 3/16 or 1/4" hex head tapcon, or a #10 or 1/4" sheet metal screw with pan or hex head for steel. That allows for other things to be attached over it without the screw or bolt heads getting in the way. My previous method for doing this was to start a hole with a traditional large bit, then finish the hole flat with a forstner bit, then drill the clearance hold for the bolt. That's 3 steps and a pain, because most flat bottom bits don't have pilot bits and are difficult to drill free hand. This saves a LOT of time. The alternative, using a flat head bit, works OK, but flat head tapcons strip very easily, and any flat head screw can split solid wood without a counter sink, and sometimes even with it.

I bought these to put holes/counterbores in PVC based siding for our new house. The installers were originally drilling the holes, then coming back later and picking up every piece again and drilling the counterbores. This made it a one step process which more than doubled thier output. Great little product. I actually then bought some very inexpensive drills ($50 each) and put them on a table, put these bits in and drilled 3 holes at the same time and paid for the drills in about 4 hours. Just had to think differently. These items did there job and saved me a lot of money.
