Disappointing sequel
I was a bit gutted by this. I LOVED the first one and thought the characters and premise were great. This one I sort of have to keep on going through, I didn’t think it was bad but the characters seem to have lost their ‘muchness’. They’ve lost the depth that they had in the first one.The romance scenes were constant and I felt a bit unrealistic in this book, it just didn’t feel as natural as in the first book.As lots have said, it’s quite slow and bizarrely not much happens until the last chapter. It sort of feels like this sequel was rushed, it needed more time, thought and depth. Disappointing as I have come to really love this author.

Disappointing second instalment
I LOVED King of Battle and Blood. It was well written, the romance built well, the story was engaging and interesting and the intimate scenes were brilliant. What happened?! It was like the author got bored of her own storyline? Intimate scenes on what feels like every other page, I got really bored to be honest and struggled to finish it, which is not common for me. It felt like the story was janky, it didn't flow very well. I read the author's note at the back where she says this book is basically everyone's backstory, but even that doesn't wash for me. It doesn't actually fully go into many characters stories and again I feel like we get into one part of the storyline only for it to go nah, I'm bored now let's do something else.I hope, that the third installment will see the brilliance return. The first book was electric, good pace and great storyline. This was flat boring and with very little character development. Sad, because I was SO excited for this, I'd had it on pre order for a year.

I expected a lot more from this sequel!
I expected a lot more plot development in this second installment, but the MC's were either fighting or having sex most of the time. The big plot twist came in the last chapter and afterwards i felt it just ended abruptly. I wanted more from this book, as I thought it would be the conclusion to Adrian and Isolde's story, but it seems there's more to it.

Fangtastic romance
Absolutely amazing, I was drawn in from the first page and couldn't stop reading. This book picks up straight after book one ends and it goes galloping into action from start to finish, twist after twist with steamy scenes thrown inbetween.Isolde is a fierce female protagonists that is unrelenting in who she is even when she is questioning her place in this chaotic world of theirs. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I was screaming because I eager to know where this story will lead, as both Isolde and Adrian fight for their love and Kingdom. With so many enemies and unknown variables what is next for the future.Bring on book 3.

Disappointing
Was not impressed. This book bored me 30% in. All they do is fight, have angry sex and repeat. Isolde is a whiny, sensitive snowflake that gets annoyed at absolutely anything everything that doesnt go her way. Shes very hypocritical and criticises adrian for everything he does and hes always habing to apologize when half the time he did nothing wrong. Isolde is so self rightous and stuck up. Im fed up of all the sex and fighting. It loses suspense and becomes tedious. I also have a gut feeling in the next book isolde is going to have adrians child. the book was kinda alluding to it especially by the end when she finds out she was carrying adrians child. Yawn!!! I hate pregnancy tropes! The author has a tendancy in trying to make strong powerful women but fails miserably. She actually ends uo makes whiny, cringey, selfish, sensitive women that will slap their husband for saying or doing anything she doesnt like but has no problem insulting her husband back and acrually enjoys the pain she caused? Stuck up, selfish, self righteous luttle bitches.

So much hope
I really had so much hope for this book after really enjoying the first one. And I have to admit it did grow on me in the later chapters but some of the storylines were so rushed I found it hard to really immersive myself in the world of Adrian and Isolde and to be shocked or saddened by some of the developments. I think the book could have done with a touch less spice and a bit more focus on the storyline.
