Solid results for two years now in my flow hood
I used this and a Dayton 1td8t fan 797 cfm, to build a bench top flow hood. I used a 24x24 furnace filter as a prefilter as well, and a larger plenum size than commercial units. I get high volume, high quality airflow at for least 30 inches in front of the filter face. After two years of use, my cultures and bags are still reliably clean. I've gotten no random contaminations on 100's of agar dishes processed in front of the filter.Mine had a couple bent fins when received. I've tested the airflow with smoke, and the damage doesn't cause noticeable turbulence problems. The fan I chose produces higher velocity air flow than many people recommend (snuffs a bic lighter out immediately), but two years of use shows no problems due to this.

Exactly what I needed to build a 24x24 laminar flow hood
I was initially concerned that the shipper had picked up the box the wrong way because some of the metal fluting was bent. I quickly realized that all I had to do was bend the foil fluting back into its original shape and that the damage was essentially cosmetic. I used 24x24 wood panels from the hardware store and quarter-round trim pieces to hack together a laminar flow hood in a few days without the use of power tools and it has become the backbone of my mushroom growing workshop. I've been using this filter for 6 months and it has performed very well. There have been zero issues whatsoever with this product. I would buy this again and I would recommend this to everyone. If you're building a 24x24 laminar flow hood, this is your go-to filter. Absolutely no BS from product quality issues, it's perfect for me. Zero contamination and total reliability.

All busted up in shipping.. unusable.
Product quality isn't the issue. It's the shipping guys being rough with it and tearing the filter, along with smashing the blades so laminar flow is absolutely unachievable and with the filter being ripped contaminates can get right threw the filter. NO FRAGILE STICKER OR ANYTHING. This item is super fragile and need to be handled with care. Not thrown on its corners to crack and rip apart. I suggest looking elsewhere

Quality Budget Filter
I bought this filter to construct a flow hood for mycological study. The filter is not a fancy, steel cased filter. But let's keep things in perspective: it's a freakin filter. It doesn't have to be fancy; it just has to do its job. it's going to get discarded in a year or two anyway. And this box appears to be adequately constructed. The dimensions are spot-on and impressively, the foam on the outer edge i actually on straight. I haven't built my hood yet, but in my opinion, after examining the product carefully, this is a quality budget filter.

Nice flow hood filter...very happy
After reading some worrisome reviews about damage to the filter I was nervous about ordering it. I decided to go ahead and order with the plan to return it if damage had occurred. Once received I carefully unpacked the filter noticing how well it was packaged. After all was removed in inspected everything and found absolutely no damage what so ever. Not even a bent fill..no chips in the particle board...no problems in the filter itself. I did notice that the day after I ordered mine that the price went up $15 dollars..then sold out the day after that. I bought mine to build a laminar flow hood and can say that I'm happy and got exactly what I wanted .

Bang4Bucks
While I have not built my project yet, I did want to leave a review and some pictures as there are some horror story ones up here. My filter was received ahead of planned delivery date and packaged super well with a "do not drop" tag, a second box, and a layer of bubble wrap wrapped around the inner box. The only defects in my filter are extremely minor and would not effect performance. The caulking around the very outer edge looked a little ugly, and there are a FEW (<6) bent fins. No damage whatsoever to the outer frame.I'd say this is an incredible value for a 99.97 filter at this size and depth. It's going into a laminar flow hood as soon as my blower shows up.

Fins came damaged, Unable to get laminar flow.
Let me start with I believe this is a problem coming out of the factory and not on the shipper, as it was well packed on a pallet and wrapped up well prior to arrival. When opening the filter I immediately noticed about 5% of fins in the filter itself where bent at the end. I didn't think too much of it at first until I installed into my laminar flow hood, and then realized that due to the damages out of the box, laminar flow turns into turbulent flow due to the direction of the wind coming off some of the bent fins, which will probably cause debris to be lifted and contaminate the sterile environment I specifically bought this to work in.I am thinking about trying to correct the fins myself, but ultimately may need to contact seller for a solution. Very disappointing to spend well over $200+ for a filter that came in less than perfect quality.Edit: I spoke with the shopper, they said this happens and all their units ship out as such and this happens across the board to everyone buying filters. Supposedly the fins are just really fine and easily damaged so they all end up in the same condition. I updated the star review as seller was very fast to respond to my inquiry, just still dissatisfied with the end result.

Excellent large flow hood
Use for flow hood. No contamination issues (well a couple bags out of 100s) does its job well. Works well with dayton 1tdt7 542cfm but with pre filter restriction and on low setting it can be hard on the motor. Had one burn out in 6 months but was replaced by seller. The larger 1tdt8 797cfm is a bit better for this large of flow hood
