Well Designed Rectangle Block
This narrow knife block fits well against the raised ledge of my rather small and angled kitchen island and gives me the additional counter space I needed. The slots are a bit wider and longer than those on my prior block and accommodate my specialty knives as well as any blade width of steak knife. The block is solid and the wood finish is very attractive. Very happy that I found this knife block.

Good quality and value.
The product is well built and attractive with a warm finish. My only beef is that the angle is such that it does not allow easy withdrawal of longer knives if placed under a cabinet. Also, without the narrower angle some knives tend to float rather than stay in the lower end of their slots. However, on the plus side this does allow for a smaller footprint compared to several other holders that can take up to 11 inches or more in depth. A little wider separation between slots would also make for easier gripping of a knife placed between two others. Overall, a good product if you have limited countertop space.

Good quality. Only for 8" or less large knives and 8" hone
This knife block is of a good heavy weight. Its build quality and finish looks ok. Wood finish has a rose/cherry coloring to it.Rubber feet are stapled to bottom. It has seven larger knife slots; four of those wide for chef's, chopping etc., that will handle knives that have up to 2 1/4" x 8 1/2" blades. It has three long and narrow slots that will handle up to 1" x 8 1/2" thinner blades such as fillet or boning knives. It has six shorter steak/small knife slots that will handle fruit knives, paring knives, or steak knives. It has a slot for a hone. The larger slots will not handle 10" long knives or 10" hone. Most peoples longest knife is 8." But having a 10" hone is common. So if you do have a 10" hone, it is going to be 1 1/2 inches too long for this block, and strike the counter below. That could easily scratch up your counter over time if you drop the hone in or if you move the block at all. I likely will affix some material on the bottom of this to cover the place where my 10" hone would come through so it can be inserted but not bottom out. A piece of full grain leather, or some kind of flexible plastic will probably do the trick.Happy cooking, and happily building up a knife set.

Attractive and doesn't take up much space
I'm very happy with this knife block! I was worried the silver bar with the brand at the bottom would bother me but it actually makes it look more elegant. I really appreciate how this knife block is shaped – my previous knife block (pictured next to it) was so sloped that it took up a lot of counter space. Somehow this one isn't any taller but takes up a fraction of the counter space. It has the right mix of small and large slots to keep all of your useful knives handy. The only thing to keep in mind is if you're OCD it might bother you that all of the handles don't line up when in the block. I'm a perfectionist and it bothered me for 30 seconds and then I was over it. Love this knife block!

Solid Knife Block
I have a variety of different knives so I wanted something that could hold most of them in one place. This is a pretty standard block that seems well built. The slots for steak knives seem a little larger than I expected, but I guess that's better than being too small. I'm not a big fan of the rubber stoppers on the bottom as I like to slide my knife block out from the wall when in use. The natural wood coloring goes well with my kitchen. Overall, it's a nice knife block that holds knives of various sizes and gets the job done.

Sturdy, heavy, real wood knife block
This real wood knife block is sturdy and well made. It is fairly heavy as real wood should be. The wood is cherry so check your decour. I was able to easily store a random assortment of kitchen knives. I would prefer something other than the metal logo plate. Perhaps a pyrography burn mark or no logo at all (maybe hide the logo on the underside?). The base has little rubber feet which prop the block up a quarter inch or so. This might allow you to sneak in a slightly longer knife. The knife slots are open at the bottom of the block so any crumbs will easily fall out and can be cleaned up.

This worked for me better than expected.
This was a finger crossing type of order because I had various different knives of different brands and sizes that needed storage. This block might not actually be universal, but it worked so well for what I was hoping it would work for. I was able to use all 14 slots for my knives, BBQ fork, and kitchen shears with only a couple of them looking awkward. the block itself has a very neutral, sleek look, that would fit in with many different kitchen decor motifs. This was a wonderful surprise. I like it alot!
