They are genuine leather. Real that is. Luster they come with a shine. Nice shoes I prefer them to Rockports. I have 3 pairs in different colors.

Maybe. It's a one piece sole with faux welt. A good cobbler may be able to remove the glued on sole and glue on a new one.
