Sorry, but acetone and Acetate are not the same chemical. There is no acetone in this product. Acetone breaks down nail polish/laquer, it doesn't thin it. There's actually a great video on YouTube by Kelli Marissa that explains what chemical compounds you should and should not use to thin polishes.

Q: What are the ingredients?

The other answer is WRONG and that person needs to learn to read! It's ethyl & butyl ACETATE, not acetone!

Q: Will this work for gel polish ?

This product ABSOLUTELEY works with gel polish. I only use gel polish with the UV/LED lamp. Only two or three drops depending on how gooey/gummy the nail polish is. I would not use more than three drops. This product does what it says. Hope this helps.
