My connection to the WII needed to be connected by the red,yellow,white cords. My TV is to modern and no longer had that option.

Save your money, awful device
While this device technically "works", the quality of the video made it near impossible to actually use. There is considerable flicker in the video, it doesn't support 480p resolution and the color is so dark that any games with even slight darkness in them simply display a black screen. Sure, it's inexpensive, but it's also supremely cheap and awful quality.Do not purchase.

Very good for the price.
This is about as good as it gets for upscaling a wii to hdmi. Great for the price! Personally, I'm using it on a 65" Samsung. The USB going into the side if the unit is a little inconvenient but not a huge deal. Also, the switch on the unit that selects between 720p and 1080p doesn't seem to do much.

This device has a 3.5 Millimeter jack connected to the HDMI plug. So am I wrong for believing that this device will not make my image clearer? So I took out my Wii I had in the closet for years and plugged this new cable on it. I tried to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and the game had some dark areas but they where pitch black. It was laughable. It was comical how dark this areas where. I got completely lost and had to quit playing. I plugged in the original A/V cable that came with the Wii and the image actually looked nicer. And the pitch black areas where not pitch black anymore. They where dim and I could actually navigate around the areas. I purchased this device to increase the image quality of my Wii, not to make it worst. Not happy with this device.
