Gr8 for solar collector cleaning, etc.
I have a bank of solar panels above my carport gathering dust and pollen. These panels have been working flawlessly for over 4 years now and regular cleaning is just comes with the territory. Because they are mounted flat on the carport roof rather than tilted for optimum operation [we live in a hurricane-prone zone], they gather more of this annoying airborne debris than one normally gets from such an installation.I have tried many RV cleaning poles and none really reached to a proper length. Getting a water-fed tube was important since the best way to clean these panels was reaching from the adjoining roof. The shutoff switch featured in this model is a must for most applications. What I like best about this unit is its price/performance ratio: it is a great value for the money. The pole, although not commercial grade, is more than adequate for occasional use. Since I only clean our panels about once a month [maybe twice a month in during the heavy pollen season], its construction is exceptional. The second thing I like about this model is its telescopic locking system: no leaks with thicker-walled aluminum tubing. Once I am on the roof, I must extend and retract the length several times to fully clean all of the panels without stepping onto them. This is normal for any water-fed system and this one operated really well for the price. Once extended, the locks are solid and do not slip [or leak]. I did not need a system that extended 17 feet but I figured using it horizontally at 10 feet would work well and it does. I only extend the largest three tubes making the pole at this length still very strong. What I did not like is not really a show-stopper, just a personal preference: the plastic quick disconnect. I prefer something a little more reliable than plastic so a quick trip to a hardware store replaced the plastic version for a brass one solve my preference for about $5 for both ends [pole and hose].Since I do not use soap on these panels [a scrub and rinse only], this was the perfect solution for cleaning them. I'm sure this works well on limited-access windows and RVs too. BTW, it has a built-in rubber squeegee that is also easily serviceable.

Fantastic bit of kit! Well worth the money.
I bought this not just to clean windows but to clean a conservatory roof and the gutters above it. I cannot fault the seller in how quickly it was despatched and packaged. Was it worth the money?Yes. If you are like me, there is nothing worse than shelling out some money after reading lots of reviews only to find the product isn't really what you wanted/needed or its not worth half the price you paid. This is a top product, well made and feels like it will last a long time. Why I bought it.We live in a 70's semi. Our conservatory is the same width as the rear of the house. The bedroom and bathroom window are near impossible to clean from a ladder. We moved into this house recently and the rear windows, con roof and gutters had a lot of green on them from the tile roof. the guttering is white as well as the windows and it just looked a mess. bits of moss that had fallen on to the con roof and lets not forget the bird muck, just meant the whole lot looked a mess and needed a good clean.I am a fit 49 year old bloke who doesn't mind DIY jobs and sometimes prefer to do jobs myself rather than pay someone and then think, "I could have made a better job!"So a quick look on Amazon. and we find this 17ft pole brush. I have one similar (shorter) for cleaning my caravan. had it years and still performs well.So I knew what to expect when it arrived. So does it work?If you are stood on the ground with the pole extended fully, directly in front of you with an up down motion cleaning an upstairs window.....Perfect!If the brush is fully extended and you are using it at a roughly 90 degree angle to your body, trying to clean a gutter, stood on a step ladder with water pumping through, it's a struggle! With water going through it you can barely hold on to it for a few seconds. Not just the weight of the whole pole but the hose behind makes it difficult, pulling it down. However! This is what I did.I had bought the soap dispenser that goes with this pole and that is also a great bit of kit. I took that off and the hosepipe. Then I got a bucket of warm water and I made a strong mix using the soap you buy for power washers. I made a strong mix.Next I made the pole shorter. The last two poles bend just a tad to much if you want to scrub like i did to get all the green off, and makes it hard work. Then I stood on my step ladder and now that i was higher of the ground it was easy to keep dipping the brush into the bucket and applying to the roof/gutters and windows. To rinse off i just used the hose pipe. Results?I think with this brush its not so much strength needed to use it, its more technique on how you use it.Now that I have got rid of all the green off the roof/gutters it will be an easy job to clean maybe twice a year. and the windows more often. I won't be paying for a window cleaner for sure!I didn't really use the squeezy bit of the brush as when I purchased the pole I also ordered some of the soap that is advertised with it but that never came till later, and after using the soap on the upstairs windows with the soap dispenser didn't really think they needed the squeezy on them.Pros.Fantastic bit of kit. well worth the money. It paid for itself the first time I used it.Cons.It is heavy with the water going through it and like I have said, not a problem if you are using in front of you. (you can also expect to get a good shower when using water through it.) but using it like I did its more about finding your own technique than being super strong. i think alot of buyers will buy this for the same reason I did, to clean over con roofs were its difficult to reach and the pole needs to be fully extended. Just take your time, and expect to be a little sore the day after.BIGGEST Con of all!Now everybody wants me to clean the windows and conservatory windows!

Perfect tool for cleaning solar panels
It was exactly as advertized. It is far less expensive than many. It is sturdy. The on-off valve is very useful. I have used mine to clean my solar panels. The reach and balance are perfect. Easy to telescope when the water is turned off (hence the on-off valve near the bottom of the handle).

ok, but can be awkward to use
Used this several times to wash the windows.ProsMade out of aluminium it is stonger than many of the other makes out there. You can give the brush a bit of pressure to really wipe the windows.Handled most upstairs windows with ease.Consextension joins, leak a biitWhen extended to nearly its full length and full of water it is a bit heavy and a bit wobbly due to the the extension joins. To be honest I didnt feel it was comfortable being fully extended and full of water.Slightly difficult to use for high up windows unless you hold the pole virtually upright. My examples to explain this were a side window that was set back and a Garage/guest room sky light. Both to reach required the pole pretty much fully extended and to be held at an angle of about 45 degrees to 70 degrees . I was able to clean them but had to be really careful as the weight of the pole and the poles moving at the extension joins made handling more difficult around the glass. Its a no win situation as lighter "plastic versions" are more prone to breaking. Heavier = less likley to break but more difficult to handle.Other points to note.No soap dispenser, so I just put a little bit of washing up liquid on the brush. When using on those windows that are difficult due to the angle I have to hold the pole, I ended up unconnecting the hose and emptying the water out ie just using it as an extended brush, then wash the water away with hose directly. Makes the pole a little lighter and thus easier to handle.
