Customer service basically ineffective
We have been HP customers for nearly 20 years, buying directly from their website. Never a problem. Had a laptop issue, fixed and returned within less than 10 days. It was great. This year we purchased a desktop Omen 45L directly from HP again and later an Omen laptop. The desktop was ordered with MS Office 2021 Home&Student. It came with that software not installed. There was also no product code to use to install it. I've spent almost 2 months trying to get what I paid for there. After a month they did send a product code, which provided a license for the 2019 version. NOT what I paid for, so on we go. Customer service has no ability to help, you get referred to a case person who never contacts you. I still haven't gotten what I paid for. The laptop came and started having intermittent screen issues, it would flicker and go to the black screen of death. Turned out that the battery had swelled (probably due to heat in shipping?) and slightly warped the case so the connection between the keyboard and screen was intermittent. Well, that's been in for repair for weeks now with no end in sight. Best estimate now is early August and we've had to repeatedly go to them for status updates. NOT impressive HP. You're chasing away long time customers this time. We get that everyone is having issues. Parts aren't available etc. but you have to have an easy way to fix things when you ship a computer missing what the customer paid for AND you need to have a clearer / more up to date way to provide repair status.
