I have been using Designs for Health supplements for quite some time and I have never been disappointed with any of the products I have used from them. Their supplements are fairly expensive, but completely worth it because they are such high-quality. This PhytoBiome is awesome and I have noticed a big difference in a short amount of time.I am currently using two product to improve my gut health over the next 30 days. This PhytoBiome and GI Stability from Standard Process. Both focus on improving gut health with natural ingredients and are not probiotics, but they allow the body to produce a gut environment that will naturally improve the good bacteria in the gut.I could tell as soon as I opened the bottle that I made a good decision of ordering this. It has a really fresh, natural, herbal smell.The suggested dose is 3 capsules which is what I have been taking. I take 2 in the morning and 1 at night and that works well for my body type. It feels like I am feeding my body something incredibly healthy and pure. It’s like when you eat a really healthy fresh salad and how good the body feels after that.I swallow these, but you could also open up the capsule and add them to a smoothy.There is nothing artificial at all in this product. Most of the ingredients come from the USA, but there are some that are sourced “globally” (they are not specific which ones), but it is also manufactured in the USA which is really important to me.This is a company I have really come to trust. I know if I order from them that I am getting a pure, effective product. This is definitely a 5-star product! Good stuff!!!

This is an excellent polyphenol supplement, and offers far more benefits for far more than just the microbiome. It contains a wide range of phenolic compounds and plant extracts, in relatively high, effective dosages. The ingredients are all high quality ,and most of the ingredients are actually trademarked/patented ingredients, which is great because that really guarantees the quality and potency.Polyphenols are well known to modulate gut bacteria. Anthocyanins from blueberries, PACs from cranberry extract, and resveratrol from red grape powder - all alter gut bacteria in a favorable way. This supplement has a great range of polyphenols to work synergistically to 1) improve the bacteria profile of your microbiome and 2) offer systemic health benefits, cardiovascular benefits, vision, etc.Issues:1) Not all the ingredients are extracts or standardized. The "wild blueberry blend" just appers to be berry powder. It isn't standardized to anthocyanins. Since it's not an extract and is just whole fruit powder, it really won't offer any benefits.2) Broccoli sprout powder isn't standardized to % sulforophane, so you really don't know the strength.3) Quercetin is a good dosage at 200mg, but quercetin has notoriously low bioavailability, this supplement should really have bromelain in it or use a more bioavailable quercetin form like phytosomal.Thoughts:It's a great polyphenol supplement, and it has a really nice range of patented specialty ingredients in it. But the dose of each of the ingredients is a little lower than I would like, and some of the ingredients aren't even extracts. The formulation could definitely be improved a bit, but overall it's excellent.

Unlike products with just one ingredient where you have an endless supply of brands to choose from, PhytoBiome is unique in that it’s Design for Health’s own combination of extracts using the ingredients they believe to be beneficial for gut health. You would be able to find products offering each individual extract, but if you want a synergistic blend of those used in this supplement, you’re only going to be able to get it from PhytoBiome, and that’s where I believe the value of this product comes from.Two companies can sell the same generic Vitamin D3, but one is able to mark up their price and sell for double the price solely based off of brand recognition. With PhytoBiome, the team at Designs for Health conducted their own research and concluded on their unique blend and the formulation optimal for gut health.For example, Vitamin E Isomers have been shown to be synergistic with Quercetin (a flavonol limited by it’s low bioavailability) and resveratrol; all extracts present in this supplement. Now you could buy each of these individually, but that would end up being pretty costly, and getting the dosing right would be a hassle. Due to the unique formulation, which means I can’t buy this identical product from any other company, I find the price justifiable.I like how the serving sizes of each extract isn’t excessive, yet still adequate for me. Additionally they’re all derived from fruits and vegetables (even vitamin E since it’s plant sourced) making this a supplement I feel comfortable taking. Antioxidants from polyphenols have also been difficult for me to get in and I would have taken them even for non-gut related reasons (really just for general health) so the fact that PhytoBiome is filled with them is another added bonus!
