On my telescoping spear
It lives up to it's name! It is useful to the carp and large frogs here. The carp especially have some fight, and the barbs on the spearpoints are effective in keeping them on the spear to be retrieved. Great value and, so far, very durable. The length is appropriate for reaching out 10+ feet. Great for use in a narrow channel or small creek.

These are some nice hooks if you own an extendable or solid pole.

Sturdy and sharp but the barbs are not great
These harpoon/gig heads all easily screw onto my fishing spear with the standard 8 mm attachment thread. The heads are very sharp, but the barbs are roughly cut into them and they are not properly finished. one of the barbs has metal shavings attached and I worry that they will not be effective when used. They can gig an apple but a frog will fight you! I have no opportunity to test them in the field until after the new year. Based on the quality of the barbs I do not recommend this product.
