Excellent mid budget wdt
It's got an aluminium handle !!!Straight away a lot more premium in the hand which is reflected in the price. The inside needle holding part is 3d printed plastic but is very sturdy and the propellor tool for tightening it up is genius. This WDT levels even the most unruly of beds leaving a perfect portafilter ready for tamping.Very happy I purchased this compared to either a budget plastic item or a more expensive WDT.Right in the sweet spot for build/value/usability

Best WDT I've tried so far
I've tried a few WDT tools in the past, but this is by far the best I've tried.Easy to store and the needles have a good balance between fine and sturdy. The spare needle in the packaging was a nice touch. As for the results....Used in conjunction with a dosing funnel to keep the grinds from spilling while stirring, tbh I struggle to tell any difference in the final result. I guess I'm lucky that my grinder (modified Vario) creates fluffy grinds straight out of the chute, but if this wasn't the case then this would 100% do the job.Using a s/s mesh puck screen on top of the coffee had a much bigger impact in the final result than any other tool/trick I've tried so far. Still nice to have the WDT for occasional use, albeit a placebo (in my case).

Does the job!
Sturdier built than expected. It's definitely a MUST have tool for any espresso maker. Can't believe I've waited so long. Making a huge difference straight away. Helps a lot to make a more even tamp. A good stand as well that many other WDT tools doesn't seem to have. Things that doesn't make it 5 star is that it does collect a bit of coffee. So you need to brush it off yourself after every use. Also I'm experimenting myself of not putting all "needles" in the holder. That way you move less coffee around and can work a more even bed. Looking at other WDT tools it seems to be a common problem that they just have too many needles that basically move too much coffee around. Overall it's a good tool. Expensive but looks better than the cheaper options for around 10-15 pounds so think it's worth the money.

"Premium feel handle"
Well it's a 3D printed base insert and that little tool. Not even bothered with smoothing the surface. Top edge on mine is quite rough and I'll need to sort it myself as not looking forward to cutting my fingers with sticking out plastic parts. The only difference between this one and the cheaper ones is the aluminium handle which feels good but everything else is average quality maximum. If you have a 3D printer at home don't bother. You'll probably end up with the same product.

Excellent quality, but still overpriced?
First off, it's an excellent WDT. I've used cheaper ones this just feels like another level in terms of quality. The handle, the stand and the pins themselves seem sleek and robust. The set up is a little fiddly but only takes a couple minutes, slotting the pins in place then locking them in using the tool provided.I'd just question the price. It's very good but is it really worth £30? Seems quite steep for such a implement. But then again I'm in no mood to return it, so that may answer my own question!
