So its referring to a 'grade' of steel. **Q: Whats its rating on a sharpness scale?** A: This knife came sharp enough to cut copy paper out of the box. It was puchased as a novelty gift. I didn't try to test it further or improve the edge. After all, this is an inexpensive knife, and it has other issues that make it less than desirable as an EDC. It is very stiff opening and closing which makes any sharp knife somewhat dangerous to handle. Personally, I carry a Buck folder with one hand assisted opening.
