The plastic seam had split and it was pricey to have the panel replaced (which is the professional opinion option) so I got creative. For $12 I got a quick fix that is unnoticeable if you aren’t looking closely. I am quite pleased with the materials as the threading was strong, didn’t fray, and the wax coating made manipulation easier when the thread was going through the plastic. The needles I used were incredibly strong, which was a relief as I was afraid the needle would break trying to get it through tougher plastic material. The thread itself is super strong too. The arm rest part of my door had started to come apart. Everyone I called either could make no guarantees, or told me to buy a new door which was just not a viable option for me. I took a risk and decided to try my hand at stitching it! It is by no means perfect looking compared to factory looks... but it got the job done and is still acceptable looking to the eye! Way better than the whole thing coming apart and foam falling out! We used one of the round needles for this project. I also used this to stitch the arm straps back onto my husbands camping backpack that was tearing at the seams and starting to fall off. The thread was strong enough to withstand a decent amount of weight in the backpack during his last camping trip.
