Operation Mekong [DVD+Blu-ray Combo]

Awesome movie👌 good story line, good acting, cinematography was excellent. Based on a true story.

After an attack on two Chinese cargo ships and the massacre of their crews the Chinese send in their elite narcotics officers to the Golden Triangle to bring the drug lord and his lieutenants to justice.This is the Chinese version of Miami Vice, narcotics officers facing off against a colorful roaster of the evilest drug traffickers possible. These villains are particularly villainous with their crowning achievement being making drug addicted child soldiers who play Russian Roulette in their down time. That really is a twelve on the villain meter. The action is fast paced, plenty and expertly handled by Dante Lam who has plenty of experience with gritty action packed cop thrillers like Beast Cop, Beast Stalker, and Viral Factor. The action set pieces are excellent, well crafted, and varied from slum pleasure tower to shiny new shopping mall to jungle stronghold. The main characters are likable and relatable even if the story is a little over earnest with the stoic heroes against the almost novelty villains. But you’re not here to nuanced story you’re here for bullets and explosions and this dishes them out by the fistful.

I preferred Operation Red Sea to this movie. It was still worth the purchase price. The plot was a little harder to follow than Red Sea.

I thought it was excellent ... ....... while some of the story line was hard to follow, it was well acted and believable.

Avoid this Seller! DVDs are NOT the correct Region Code to play in the U.S. Absolutely NO seller information that they are not coded for U.S. play, but the packaging includes a card indicating that the product is intended for U.S. sale Waste of $$$$Update: Borrowed a friend's "open" DVD player. The movie would load and play but guess what? NO English dubbing available and NO option for English subtitles!! So still a waste of money. The product description on Amazon does NOT list any of this information.. Deceptive to say the least.FYI- Purchased Operation Red Sea from another seller and it played with subtitles.

This is a very exciting film. The story is cool, whether it is entirely true is another question. A couple of awesome Chines policemen take on a drugring that operates along the Mekong river. The action and chase scenes are awesome. The story is pretty cool, though definitely from a Chinese perspective, other countries in the region might look differently at these events.Picture and sound are good too, I recommend this film!

The movie itself is fantastic. I am however, waiting for English Subtitles to become available. This movie is extremely action oriented. For that reason, I highly recommend this movie to anybody who loves an action movies. There are some English dialogue but mostly Chinese.UPDATE: The long wait for English Subtitles are over. The subtitles are FINALLY AVAILABLE. I can now fully enjoy my movies.

日本版はDVDのみだったのでアメリカ版BDを購入しました。最近はどちらかというとドラマ系に行っていたが今回は久々にガンアクションを見せてくれたので良かった。アクション監督は一部ではトイガンマニアとしても知られるベテランのトン・ワイが担当。登場する銃器も色々な種類が出てきて楽しい。この作品を見るとラム監督は師匠とも言うべきゴードン・チャン監督を追い越した感じがする。内容紹介は日本版のレビューにあるので商品内容をお知らせします。このBD/DVDセット、パッケージにはDVDはリージョン1とありますが日本のプレーヤーでも再生可能でした。BDの音声はDTS-XとヘッドフォンXで収録されています。映像特典は約20分程のメイキング集と予告編（本編未公開シーンあり）です。
