Satisfied Customer Here, Found Gold and Learned to Pan.
I classified and panned it out, to fine black sand and about 8 flecks of gold, on almost to tiny nugget status, I bought it to learn to pan, and to know what it would be like to see color in the pan. It would have been nice to have more gold, but the first while i wondering if there would be any gold at all. Turns out, I am a pretty good panner with just a little practice. Satisfied customer here.

This has happened twice now. Never again
Well I just opened 5 1/2 lb. little bags.I have had decent results two months ago with a first purchase. However tonight with very careful inspection, run thru sluice 3 times and with ea. Bag I expected a little. But only one bag had a picker and two bags had a tiny tiny amt of flour. This experience is going to shut down my endeavor of buying gold paydirt. Tonight, my emotions will interfere with my choice of words. It was not an insignificant amount of money spent.I have now opened ten vendors paydirt.Several were $100+ and six were smaller bags, all different.Your claims and reviews suggest a good experience.Sadly that wasn’t even close.I consider myself to be good on finding gold in the use of panning gold. What happened?I received 5 bags, expecting one to hold 3x normal as claimed in your advertising.I spent two hours and ran it thru my sluice three time. One tablespoon at a time.I can’t even take a picture because there’s so little to see in my sniffer bottle.Quite frankly, I wondered if you have an unhappy employee whose creativity snags some gold destined for customers.Your reviews are solid. I have purchased over 26 bags from 8 vendors. Two of them had nothing.I made sure I complimented those products who at least allowed a little yellow gold bits. But 5 bags of dirt and only one who could be tiny flakes and one picker found with tweezers, and then sent thru my 4 foot sluice 3 times to zilch.

It’s for fun not an investment
My son had some money saved and saw this and was set on getting it. I explained that there was no way he’d get the same value or more in gold. He understood and just wanted to play prospector. Works good to just pour out into a cookie sheet or something and go through the sand very slow. We found about (5) tiny little pieces. Not much at all. But he had fun 👍

Gold
The gold yield from this pay dirt was less than anticipated. Further evaluation of the source material may be necessary. It's important to analyze the efficiency of the extraction methods used. Potential improvements to the process should be considered. A reassessment of the expected gold content is also recommended.

Not every bag has gold
I don't know if it's just me and my luck but that's not worth the money I spent on this. One small piece of gold. (I don't know if it really was from this or it was stuck in my mini sluice, but ill give it the benefit of the doubt) I found more gold In home depots play sand then I did this and that only cost me $5.99. I panned this then I ran it through my sluice. Then panned it again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. It feels like someone just went to a old drainage ditch ( the ones with the old metal culvert and scooped out some dirt out of riffles and stuck it in a bag and wished for the best. I don't know if I want to buy it again to see if there really is gold in it, but I don't want to waste the money like I did just now. My child said to me. Dad we found more gold In the pit we have (sand and stone quarry) then in this. Bag and we found more in the bags you got use for are play area. Kids pool full of 10 bags of Quikrete play sand.

Great Experience For Any Age.
Not sure why others have rated this company so low. It comes down to panning techniques. They don't have a min. amount, but you do get some Au. This is great for both adults and kids. Your not going to get your money back out of it. So don't expect anything more than 0.10g. Its a price point experience where having fun finding Gold at any age is priceless. My son loved the gift and he was excited how easy he found gold even at age 5 with minimal help. Tip use jetdry or Dish detergent to catch it all.

Great Present!
I'm a little late on this review, but such things tend to happen when you're a parent! ;] I've collected minerals since I was seven, and recently, my son turned seven. My first mineral happened to be native gold, and what better gift could I think of to get him into the hobby of mineralogy than the same that got me into it? Only, I didn't want to just give him a little vial of gold like I was given, I wanted him to have a little bit of fun behind it. So, after remembering the several gold pans I had in the garage from my adventures in New Mexico and Central Texas, I figured, why not order him some paydirt? I myself had bought some paydirt years ago from an old mining prospect in Oregon, and I remember having quite a fun time panning through it (this was also much quicker than driving out-of-state to any rich deposits, or out to the Crater of Diamonds for a different adventure). Boy, oh boy, was he ever pleased! After filtering out the larger particles, we threw some of the dirt into the pan, and after hitting it with a little water, we immediately saw some gold (pictured in the photograph with the pan). All-in-all, my son was able to pan out 127mg of gold from the bag (and now thinks he is the richest kid on the face of the planet). Not too bad, considering he had no real help from me, and had never even touched a pan before this. I would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting to teach somebody how to pan for gold, or other precious metals. Sure, you aren't going to walk away with a profit or anything (and I don't know why one would expect to, such a company could never stay in business if this was the case), but you definitely will walk away with some gold, and if your experience was anything like mine, and my child's, you'll walk away with a smile, and a little bit of gold that has a story behind it to share!
