Just received it today and wanted to try it out in the backyard before taking it to the lake. Luckily it just rained so the ground was perfect for staking it in. It twists into the ground but it was a little crooked which is why the sand bag will help. The sandbag folds over like a little make shift bag to put sand into so that part is optional. I’m 5’3 and can walk under it perfectly. It’s made to protect you from the sun while you sit/take turns in the water and it does a great job. We also ordered a large beach blanket to put under so we will be able to sit on the ground under the umbrella tent easily! It can fit a couple of chairs too. It doesn’t come with instructions but pretty easy to put up yourself.

I bought this for a different, more relaxed, farmer’s/flea market tent for my sporty travel bags. It is sturdy but the picture showing a square base was a little misleading. The brown cover is just a cover for the pole with an end that has a large plastic screw to go into sand. I will have to buy a large enough stand for the umbrella to accommodate the screw end. Without dirt or sand to put up the cabana, I had to lean it against my truck and tie the corner flaps to my roof rack. (I was happy I had it for the 10 minutes of rain).

Don’t waste your money! This umbrella is a piece of junk. We took it to the Outer Banks on a family vacation and it broke the first time we used it. Whenever there was any breeze at all, the spokes came out of the cover. The first day one of the umbrella spokes broke in half and that side of the tent collapsed. We tried to duct tape it together but it wouldn’t hold. We were left without shade and had two babies and 3 elderly people in the group who did not want to be in the sun. I was very disappointed and it put a damper on our beach time.

Very easy to use. We live near the beach so we have had plenty of usage time.Quick tip:We got caught in sudden wind one day and it stood fine, but was harder to take down. We should have started with lowering the middle, then emptying the sand bags. We always set the wall side based on how the sun tracks at our location for max shade on our cooler.

There was no pin to secure the umbrella...other than that we were happy with the product

My dad got this meaning to get the Cool Cabana.It was way to hard to put up!!! The 1st time on beach with moderate breezes, cabana had a tear. Carrying to beach, bag had a tear. All normal use. Poor product. Used one day!

It was very easy to assemble the umbrella: the bottom piece screws into the sand, the top part snaps on...done. The pieces from the corners that went down to the ground and filled with sand are brilliant. They really added stability against the wind. The back wall zipped on easy, but there were only 3 little stakes to hold it to the sand, which blew out in the slightest breeze, leaving the wall flapping. Pockets at the bottom to fill with sand like the corner supports would be a big upgrade. Also the table, while convient and functional, was not durable. A post pushed through one of the corners, making the table flimsy. Some reinforcement on the corners would be awesome. Ultimately I'm happy with the purchase and would buy it again, but those 2 things should be addressed.
