Diana: A Life in Dresses: From Debutante to Style Icon

I was pleasantly surprised when I went out onto my porch, and low and behold, there was the Diana book on the porch. I wasn't expecting it so soon, and I thank the seller for their speed in sending this out. It was also carefully packaged, and I thank them for that too. This book is worth every penny I just paid for it, it's in perfect condition (as described) and was shrink-wrapped. Imagine my surprise in seeing photos I've not seen before of the late Princess Diana in her gowns, etc. I just quickly flipped through it and smiled and shed a few tears seeing the late Princess in 'all her glory'. It'll take me awhile to get through this book, but it'll be worth it. I liken this book to the other wonderful one I got from Amazon, "A Dress for Diana", as I recognized some sketches with the design of her wedding dress that are in this book as well as "A Dress for Diana". I encourage readers to purchase "A Dress for Diana", it is wonderful as well!!!The other positive reviews 'nailed-it' with "Diana: A Life in Dresses", thank you for convincing to get this book!!! Oh, and thank you Amazon, as always!!!

Received this book today, and was quite disappointed. I was expecting a book crammed full of Diana pictures in her nicest outfits. but I think her best dresses and outfits she wore were not included in this book. I think this book could have been better.

This is one of the best fashion books about Diana. What a phenomenal compilation! This impeccably researched retrospective features personal recollections of Diana from each designer, as well as flawless visuals, whether sketches of the dresses, closeups of the embroidery, or stunning photographs of Diana in the dress. Ms Joseph’s research extends to the current location of each gown showcased; I never would have expected a museum in Chile to house so many of her gowns.I applaud Ms Joseph for her laser focus on the the origin stories of the dresses. At no point does she ruminate on Diana’s toxic marriage, her reliance on holistic/quack therapies, or the Princess’ mental state.My only quibble is that Ms Joseph often makes mention of numerous dresses that Diana wore without showing either a sketch or a photo of said dress. Even diehard Diana fans don’t have an encyclopedic memory of every outfit Diana ever wore, so a visual aid would have been useful. Despite that flaw, this book is incredible, and I’m so glad Ms Joseph took the time and care to craft it.

Awesome photographs of the Late Princess of Wales! Highly recommend!
