Access 2010 Bible 1st Edition

I've worked with Access, FoxPro and MySQL, but not at expert level. This book meets my expectations perfectly, with in-depth coverage of all areas I'm interested in. A 1000+ pages would be a little overwhelming for a beginner, but index and chapter headings let me find what I want quickly.I also appreciate being able to install both the sample programs and a PDF of the book on my laptop - the book stays on my desk but goes with me on the laptop.

I preferred buying the physical copy over an electronic version for two reasons.1) It comes with an additional cd filled with tips and examples2) I like resting my eyes from reading from a screen.Great reference material. I have personally preferred the Bible series reference books over other learning aids available mainly because of their teaching method which makes it easily understood.

I nearly didn't purchase this book because of all the negative reviews but since I owned one by this author years ago, I took a chance. Glad I did because it contains great examples and much more depth of information than some of my other Access books. It's great having it on the Kindle because I can read at work and also on the Kindle desktop app at home - no lugging the book back and forth.... not even lugging the Kindle.If you contact the technical department at Wiley.com - I used their online chat - you will be able to attach a copy of your Amazon receipt. As soon as they have verified they will email you a link to download the CD. It's pretty instantaneous. Well, okay, an hour or two at most.Haven't designed a database in some time so am finding this book invaluable. The examples used in the chapters are all on the CD/download and you can modify them for your own purposes. (I haven't found them disjointed. Each example is there to illustrate a section and add variety.)I haven't finished the book, or my database yet, but will update this post when I do. So far, am more than pleased with the purchase.

Don't buy this book if you are thinking to read the book in PDF file on the CD.I just received the book today, and I am very disappointed in the restriction in pdf file on the CD. You can not print, copy content, comment (adding note), and even highlight on the e-book. In other words, the only thing you can do is "viewing" and "searching" the pdf file. It's not convenient for reading it on computers if you would like to underline/highlight the contents or add your note on the pdf file for what you read.I purchased Excel 2010 bible two month ago. The e-book (Excel 2010 Bible) on the CD-ROM is not strictly protected in this way. The publisher is supposed to clarify the restriction on the description.

As a college student book cost and book weight is the main concern for me ( besides test and people, home work, GAS!! etc). Access 2010 is a heavy and think book, thankfully kindle has me covered. Easy to see digital copy of the whole book, just make sure your teacher allows it.

If you are new to databases and/or Microsoft Access then you will find this book helpful. It is a tome full of excellent information on database concepts and goes through a ton of Access features. If you are looking for a book that incorporates Access 2010 features throughout the text then you should probably look elsewhere. I learned more about Access 2010 features by listening to 10 minutes of online marketing then I did through the first 600 pages of this book.Because I am more than a bit rusty with Access I am not sorry i purchased the book however I will now need to find a second one that actually covers Access 2010 in depth.

Like the name say, it's a bible. Have everything you need to work efficiently on access. Maybe you will need something more about VBA, considering that you will go to this path, if you don't, the book it's what you need to have if you want something to consult while working on access.

The MS "Bibles" are a constant on my desk. Answers all the questions you may have and easy to find rather than trying to sift through google searches.

I needed a refresh with Access (I was an intermediate user, basic on VBA). The book explain very well the basics notions. I recommand it to every basic and intermediate ACCESS users. I did not read all the book yet, but the 1-4 chapters are clear and examples are good. The book also arrived in good shape, with CD.

Book was in good condition (as advertised) and an absolute bargain. As suspected, large chunks of it are too advanced for me but that is the fault of neither the book nor the seller.

Access 2010 Bible is very well written, well organized, well presented.Although I have not been through the whole of it yet, it has seved me so far quite well,with detailed examples and useful tips.
