High quality wallet and pencils, just wish I could get a replacement sketch pad!
This review is for the wallet, with the colored pencils, graphite pencil, eraser, sharpener and sketch pad. The wallet itself is high quality - leather-ish, with a strong velcro enclosure. I took it out on my porch to sketch my yard, and it is surprisingly comfy to work with, just sitting on my lap. The colored pencil selection is good - these are some of the smoothest colored pencils I've ever used, and they layer very well. The colors are vivid and bright, and the included colored and drawing pencils are a joy to use on the included sketch pad. The only downside: I cannot locate that A5 sketch pad online anywhere, so when the time comes to replace it, I'll have to make do with something else. The wallet seems to only allow for about a 30 page pad, and any pad with a wire ring (not taped) will warp when closed (if it will close at all). Derwent, you should make replacement sketch pads for this!

One of the Best Colored Pencils I've Used.
I've tried and used several different brands of colored pencils, including Prismacolor, Faber Castells and Caran d'Ache. I find the Procolour to be better then any I've tried. At least for me. I have the 72 set and they came from Amazon global. It took less then a week to arrive. And the pencils were perfect. The color palette is great. Good color choices and it gives you what you need. The pencils sharpen well and the leads seem strong. The Procolour feels firm enough for detail and control and yet they glide and lay down beautifully. Not scratchy at all. They have a soft feel but, not smushy. It's not as soft as Colorsoft. More like Polychromos with a control and firmness of Derwent Artist. A perfect blend of firm and soft. They remind me of my favorite drawing pencils, Palomino Black Wing #602. The pencils glide across when laying down color. And the colors are vivid. Blending is a dream with a blend or solvent. I painting the pencil I find a softer pencil then bristle works best. With a softer brush you get the same effect as Polychromos. You can layer quite abit depending on the paper. I used Stonehenge. I would also recommend doing a color chart or playing with the different colors as some colors lay down a color that is not quite the same as the lead. Something I find standard with Derwents of all lines. I absolutely love the feel of the pencils and the colors. I love the colors in this line. Derwent really did an amazing job of bringing a firm and soft blend in this pencil and they have been a joy to use

My Favorite Pencil
These pencils are a hybrid: part wax and part oil. They are awesome. You get the best of both worlds. The ease of coverage with wax and the beautiful results of oil. The pencils do not need to be sharpened very often because they hold their points which allows for detail work too. Vivid colors come easily from these pencils. I am a fan of Odorless Mineral Spirits and a Blender Pencil which these work beautifully with. Your pencil work will look like an oil painting. These pencils are in a league all their own. However, if I had to tell you what they feel like to use then I would compare them to the Faber-Castell Polychromos. And they are priced much better than the Polychromos so I bought the 72 pencil set. The colors are beautiful and you get a 4 mm core. Which means you get more pencil for your money. These are now my favorite colored pencil. Derwent has always produced quality products and these pencils prove that. I am a fan of Derwent products!

Beautiful layering and colors
These are very expensive pencils and for the most part they are worth the cost. However they are expensive enough I wouldn’t necessarily recommend them for beginners or for gifting. As far as the lightfastness of the product I haven’t had them long enough to know from personal experience. They layer beautifully and there are some beautiful colors. You’d have more options with the bigger set. The cost may keep some people from doing that, as it did me. I am happy with my purchase but am a little sad I didn’t splurge for the larger set because of the color range. Layering can help with some of that. No regrets on my purchase. Sadly however the tin was bent when I got them and it will not stay closed. I reached out to Amazon and they gladly sent me a replacement. The replacement was so damaged and bent it messed up a couple of pencils. Long story short I still ended up with a dented tin that doesn’t close. I have to keep it taped. Either way, great pencil set.

So smooth and pigmented
I love these pencils. They lay down very smoothly and have a high pigment payload. Not every color is lightfast however, so make sure to check the lightfastness ratings if you plan on creating anything for display.

I love Derwent products but had a few issues with the Procolour Pencils
Most of the pencils are perfect, and work like a dream but there were a few that had loose cores. As you begin to use them, you can feel the wiggle that also makes a squeaking sound. Additionally, the salmon colored pencil had bits of green or brown pigment / debris embedded within the core. These bits do not sharpen away. After sharpening a quarter of the pencil, those unmixed pigments/contaminants remain and leave streaks of greenish brown color on the paper when used

My new favorite among quality colored pencil brands 😍
I agree with everything Derwent says about these pencils. I have or have used over a dozen premium artist's colored pencil sets. I put Derwent Procolour 72 at the top of my list of best pencils for my daily coloring uses. On Bristol smooth paper, they go down easily and smoothly, but not all at once, allowing the user to modulate lay down, feather out color value, combine colors, and erase where necessary. The colors are bright and clean. They sharpen perfectly with my handheld sharpener. I do wish the set were 120 instead of 72, but the colors do layer and blend very well and I have been able to "make" the colors I need. Bottom line...they color wonderfully on my Bristol smooth paper.

The tin lid doesnt latch onto the box and falls off easily. The pencils are capable enough to produce magical results in the right hands.(If you know how to use them) *Note* Each type of pencil behaves differently and that doesnt make them good or bad..choose what fits your needs. They are somewhere in between soft and hard..Well pigmented and waxy. Have to disagree with the reviews that say they dont blend well. Ive added 8 to 10 layers(even after using oil to blend) and they still hold up pretty well. I can keep on adding layers they still keep doing their job. Im a beginner-intermediate and they offer way more than my skill can handle. Go for it!

These are gorgeous. Same colour set as the Inktense. These are vivid, layer well and are smooth to use. Great investment!
