Very Fast
I use this external hard drive to store large library files for music apps. Theses files would normally fill my internal drive to capacity. This Drive handles every thing without any issues.

Works great but can get hot.
It holds the drive nice and snug and comes with some thermal adhesive as well. Overall really happy with it. Keep in mind these drives produce a lot of heat when working them hard so this case is designed to help dissipate that heat so the drive can perform expect it to be warm if you’re doing something that makes the drive work hard.

Be prepared for missing items - actually not
Bought two of these, both of them were missing the thermal pad and screw or tab to secure the memory to the board. This seems to happen frequently as you can see from other reviews, so factor in the additional cost if you don't have an extra thermal pad and screw lying around. Speeds were good so can't complain about that but annoying that there's no QC for missing parts.Edit: Literally 10 seconds after submitting my review I noticed there was something in the packaging, you have to take of a piece of the packaging to find everything. Still leaving a star off because the packaging sucks and others have made this mistake too. They should either put all of the items on the bottom or none of them.

Performance numbers as advertised.
Performance numbers as advertised at 3000MB/sec read/write. I used WD SSD SN850X however given the practical limit of 3000MB/sec on external interface, any SSD doing more or equal to 3000MB/sec is good enough for the enclosure. Happy with the purchase.

Not worth the money
Enclosure fails suddenly and refuse to connect to any device. I plugged it in to multiple laptops and desktop using both the USB-C and USB-A connectors and none of my devices detect this enclosure.

Looks Great But Does Not Actually Work
The enclosure itself looks great, feels solid, is a little larger than others which I thought would help with the heat. Unlike what another reviewer said, it does have a screw to hold the SSD in place. And that is where the good stops. The cable provided is horrible. The USB-A end pops off to a USB-C, but there is a piece of plastic that holds the USB-A adapter on...and also prevents you from plugging the USB-C end in all the way. I used another certified TB4 cable... The SSD I used was an OWC Aura Ultra IV (rated at like 7200MB/s) on a MacBook Pro with TB4. I was replacing a Sabrent TB3 enclosure, hoping to take advantage of the TB4 performance. That didnt happen. When it actually worked, this enclosure struggled to maintain half the speed of the older TB3 enclosure. Even worse, I was never able to get it to stay connected for more than about 3 minutes. I would start a transfer and if would just disconnect. I put the SSD back in the older Sabrent, and it was rock solid. I have returned this enclosure - too many issues to bother trying to troubleshoot.

It works but did not get all in the package.
The enclosure is good and works as most reviews have stated. I have both 2TB and 4TB nvme drives and they work. It is solid and comes with a heatsink. The cables work as well for both USB C and A as both were tested. However this did not come with any thermal pads. So if you use your drive without it, you can destroy it. The heatsink has an air gap when placed over the SSD which I suppose is meant to be filled by the thermal pad (obviously).Luckily I was already prepared as I got my own thermal pads also but need to get extra screws for the inside. My advice is if you buy this just have the essentials in case you don’t get all the items that should come with it. Don’t run your SSD naked especially if you are running gen 4 and above and using them a lot.
