This and another product have worked wonders on an adopted senior cat with chronic dry skin and dull coat
I bought this and Feline Greenies SmartBites Skin & Fur in September for a cat with chronically dry skin, dandruff, and dull hair. I’m essentially reviewing both products together because I don’t know which is the one that’s really worked so amazingly. I rescued a 13 year old black cat last year, and I noticed she shed in clumps, usually while grooming herself. She had extremely dry skin, such that she always had dandruff, and when she groomed herself chunks of hair would come out with dry skin at the end. Her coat lacked shine and wasn’t particularly soft. She threw up hairballs all the time. I bought the Wild Caught Omega-3 Fish Oil pump bottle by Deley Naturals. I put half a pump on her wet food, which she only eats once a day. At first she wasn’t sure about it but now she prefers all her food to taste like that. She’s an older cat, too, so all the nutrients and advantages of this Fish Oil are really good for her. Obviously I can’t say if her heart and brain are better, but I can say that she is notably improved overall since we got this in September. At the same time I bought FELINE GREENIES SMARTBITES Healthy Skin and Fur Cat Treats Salmon Flavor 2.1 oz. . I give her the recommended mount of treats (around 16-20) once a night, and she loves them. At first I had the chicken flavor and then got salmon, and again, it took her a bit to come around to the salmon but now she loves them. All this to say that just over 2 months on, her coat is so soft, I barely see dandruff on her, she has so fewer hairballs, and her hair isn’t coming out in those clumps anymore when she grooms. She looks markedly better, I can’t stress that enough. She still sheds a lot, and she still has hairballs and a little bit of dandruff, but wow am I so pleased I bought these. She just seems better.

AMAZING TASTE AND ARTHRITIS REDUCER
We were recommended to purchase Antinol by my general vet after our cat was diagnosed with arthritis in the knees and hips. It is an expensive product dosed once per day and comes in a gel capsule similar to a fish oil capsule. Our cat refused to eat the capsule as is, so we had to split the capsule open and feed it to him in Applaw's Mackarel Loin. It is EXTREMELY difficult to get the juice of the capsule out of the capsule because the outer layer is super tough. We cut it open with a scissors and tried to squeeze the juice out, but it always seemed like a good bit was lost in the process. Our cat wasn't too keen on the flavor and that is why we had to use it in a treat. We also did not notice almost any improvement after using it from October thru December. Our orthopedic vet told me that there was a recent study done that stated DHA was actually more beneficial for cats with arthritis and EPA was more beneficial in dogs. He also had never heard of Antinol. I showed him the box and he said he wouldn't recommend it because it wasn't clearly stating how much of a percentage the kitty was getting in each capsule. He recommended switching to Wild Caught, GMO Free Omega 3 Fish Oil for Cats, Reduces Shedding, Supports Skin, Coat, Joints, Heart, Brain, Immune System, Highest EPA & DHA Potency, Only Ingredient is Fish, 16 oz Pump Bottle. What a difference! Our cat LOVED the taste and it was easy to give him one to two pumps daily in wet food. We decided to switch his wet food to Ziwi Peak's, which is the best food recommended for arthritic cats because it has green mussels in it already- the same thing as Antinol's active ingredient. Our orthopedic vet said that it is much less stressful and easier on felines if the green mussels are in a food source that in a pill form. Although Ziwi Peak is more expensive than other cat foods, it is more nutritiously dense and has the same ingredients as Antinol, so don't waste your money on Antinol, just buy a higher quality cat food that already includes green mussel protein in it and add some much loved EPA. My cat was much happier, less stressed, and his arthritis did not seem to bother him nearly as much in a shorter period of time.

Great product! But leaky bottle
Finally! An omega oil my cat's don't notice in their wet food! I'm thrilled! It's so much easier to give it to them mixed into their wet food than any other way. Lord knows I have enough supplements and meds to give at this time or that. Lol! So, one less thing is nice. Even my most finicky kitty doesn't mind it at all. It's only been about a month and already I've noticed their fur is more shiny and softer. Update: Like other customers I have had nothing but problems with the bottle's pump. Once pressed it leaks and drips oil all over the place. I plan on finding a new bottle to transfer it to. Still, an excellent product that's still tolerated well by all 6 of my cats.

Great for dry coat--careful pumping though!
This is an excellent product as far as I can tell, though I don't think my cat loves when I add it to his food. Sometimes I think his coat looks dull and try to add it in and disguise it. One star off due to the packaging. For some reason, this stuff gets everywhere! And it is potent. The container I keep cat food, medicine, etc. in, is stained due to this oil spraying when I use the pump. Ugh, and if it gets on your hand or clothes--yucky. I sort of wish it had a dropper top, a low-flow dispenser or something more containable. It's a powerful little pump!

I have 4 kitties, ages five to sixteen, 10 to 16 lbs range. I use 1/2 a teaspoon, once a day per kitty. I pump it into a 1/2 tsp measure, which is 3 quick small pumps. One bottle lasts 2 months for me. They love the stuff, ask for it. Their coats are beautiful, silky even my European Burmese who has a coat like a Siamese. No fur balls even with my long-haired cat. My oldest kitty has more energy. Great for cats with allergies. Helped me one kitty with Megacolon tremendously. Immune booster. Fabulous product, I would not go without it, could not recommend it more highly.

Not sure how it is working with my 11 year old cat as I just started putting half teaspoon in her food. But she likes the taste and hoping it might help her dry fur and she has asthma so was recommended this. Only thing is I cant work the pump so I just measure out half teaspoon once a day. Bottle is big too so will last long time as I will skip days of giving to her. Otherwise she likes it.

Thank you for this product! Finally I have found something to relieve my cat's itching, hotspots and overgrooming. Why the vets don't seem to figure this out is beyond me but my kitty is very happy now. She was scratching all around her head and neck area to the point of making her skin raw. She was treated for fleas, just in case, but it wasn't that. Nothing seemed to help until I read online about this wonderful product. I gave it to her with her morning wet food (just a half pump) and within a week I noticed a big difference. It has been a couple of weeks now and she is totally healed. The bottle will last a long time. Don't forget to put in the fridge. So pleased!!

This seems to be the one Omega 3 oil bottle for cats that isn't made exclusively of salmon oil. Instead, it's made of a mix of mackerel, sardine, herring and anchovy oils and it seems to be made to have a non-fragrant flavor. I bought this because I thought the salmon oil would change the flavor of my cat's food too much. Unfortunately, my cat never liked it. The more I put in her food, the less she wanted to eat it. I couldn't put enough to give her the recommended daily dose without her rejecting her food. Then, I bought a small bottle of salmon oil at my local pet shop, and when I tried it on her, she slurped it up. I guess cats just like very fragrant food. It's as if they cared more about it reeking of meat odour than about it having a specific taste. So if you want to feed your cat omega-3's, I'd say try a brand of salmon oil first. I want to note however that contrary to many other reviewers, I did not have any leaking issue with the dispenser.

OK so to start off yes the dispenser is crap, but since I read the reviews before I bought this product I expected that, so I use a little syringe thing, and it works. So I rated this high because I feed a feral cat outside, I noticed his fur was starting to have problems almost like he was going to go bald, So I read up on fish oil and saw that it's great for cats with skin issues, I have been giving it to him for nearly 3 weeks now, he eats it in his wet food once a day everyday, he loves it btw! and I have noticed a huge improvement with his fur it doesn't part anymore in spots when he's sitting down, it's even shiner not so dull, Not sure about the rest of what they say this does, But it works for skin issues. My other cat who's 9 years old also has skin allergies to the point that she will lick her fur off in spots, So I also give the fish oil to her, now she's not a fan of it sadly so i have to give it to her manually everyday, but again I have noticed an improvement with her fur, it's all grown back now, and the dandruff is gone. So this product does work! I would suggest if you can to get a little syringe like they give you at the vet for liquid medications, and dip that in the bottle.
