good camera. Here are the Pros and Cons
Overall, good camera. Here are the Pros and Cons:Pros:-Great camera quality.-Wireless, i.e. doesn't require LAN line to router-Pictures and videos are reasonably clear.-No subscription required service for storing data since you can store data on an SD card.-Can set alarms so that videos/pictures are captured when triggered by the sensor.-App allows livefeed.-Can access camera via computer if desired-Lots of various modes and features on the app and website.Cons:-Software (App) and instructions can get confusing at times. If I were the manufacturers, I would invest in creating a more design friendly product. They could easily capture market share since it seems like the next best product are the Nest cameras. However, those are much too expensive since you need its subscription service as well to make it comparable to 4sdot.-Would have liked them to provide a longer power cord. In retrospect, I should have measured beforehand so that I could of ordered the power extension cord sooner. For the cost, it's a reasonable security camera to own. If purchasing, I would advise to set aside some time to learn and setup camera (2-4 hours). That being said, the contact email for help, [email protected], is very useful since the staff is very friendly and prompt.

Good basic camera.
I've installed one by my door yesterday and installed another by drive way today. Install itself was pretty easy. 3 screws mount the base and 2 screws to set the aim as needed. Picture quality during day time is EXCELLENT. Night vision is passable/usable. I gave it 5 stars not because it's perfect; but, because it achieves so much for so little, and does it well. Some of the negatives I can think of would be the view angle. Its field of view is rather narrow, so it does not cover wide area. There is no zoom, there is no focus, there is no automated pan or tilt. It's just a basic camera in waterproof case. Another negative is, there is no Power On Ethernet. This is too bad, as it is so cheap to implement. My house is already wired for networking. But I had to run new wires. In 95F weather in Florida, this isn't easy, but got it done. So I don't have to run power cables, I bought POE adapters separately, and of course it worked just fine. The software that comes with it is rudimentary. I use it to set it up and that's it. To actually put it in service, I've set up iSpy. On website (of this product), there is a how-to on setting it up with iSpy.Would I buy again? I already did. I'm going to add two more.

Great quality camera and build, poor app and UI.
Works as promised. Clear picture and great frame rate for the price. Installation was very easy and camera seems heavy and high quality. I don't have any hesitations towards this camera not holding up in snow or rain.I would have rated this 5 stars but the app is a little wonky and needs to have better English for those not very well versed in installing and setting up webcams. You can simply enter the camera's IP address into your browser on your PC/Mac at home as well to view the camera. The motion alerts are VERY sensitive. Even a car driving by or a decorative flag waving in the wind will prompt an alert. I tried to set it up to email me each motion alert, but I couldn't figure that out.All in all, I'm going to buy 2 more of these for other sections of the exterior of my home.

Good picture, but this camera is not quite ready for prime time
Update: I have two of these cameras, and have been using them for six months. One of them has started giving intermittent errors and psychedelic colors, and has become useless for my purposes. I tried to get the seller to honor their warranty on the camera but they refused. They insisted that I give them my userid and password so they could log in and see for themselves. Of course, every time they looked at it, it was working fine. They started guessing at the cause of the problem, when I had already told them it was intermittent. They finally said my software was no good (even though I never told them what security software I was using) and insisted that only their software was good enough. I guess I'll have to just throw away the camera since they won't honor the warranty. I will never buy another 4SDot camera. For an inexpensive camera, this does pretty good. It has a good picture and seems fairly sturdy. However, unless you are a basic "appliance-type" customer, you may not be happy with it.I wanted to add this camera to my existing DIY home security system. The first obstacle I ran into was that it has no streaming MJPEG mode. This is a basic video stream that allows you to view the camera in a standard browser such as Chrome or Firefox. The camera does have RTSP streaming, however, which my security system could use. But that mode uses more bandwidth, introduces artifacts, and can't be viewed on a browser. The next obstacle was the setup. It has a web interface for setting up the camera, but it looks like it was shoehorned in to the camera at the last minute from another one somewhere. It has a lot of options like pan/tilt/zoom controls, which this camera doesn't support. Worse, there are some features that apparently won't even show up (according to the support rep I spent a lot of time communicating with) unless you are using Internet Explorer. One of these is the motion capture - I could set it up to send an email when it detects motion, but it would never send one because I couldn't see the menu to adjust the sensitivity. I was told to either use Internet Explorer (I don't even own a Windows computer) or load the app on my phone and do it there. I don't want to load the app just for that, and I should be able to do it from the web interface!Overall, it's a pretty good camera for a good price. But unless you want to load yet another app on your phone to use it, I'd look elsewhere.
