Essential for wild campers
Used a few times and so far so good, filled up at few water sources with no ill effects nice and portable. I like the fact you can attach directly to a normal soft drinks bottle. Cleaning isn't too bad, long term storage is a bit challenging requiring to be stored wet. It's great quality though and worth while investment if your a hike or a camper.

Incredible Kit
I can't praise this product enough, I've been using now for a few years and it has been everywhere with me, complete off grip hiking and multiple nights away this is a dream to have, waters good to go on the move, it's small, light weight and durability is spot on. I have drunk water from all kinds of sources with this filter and it's amazing, if you maintain it as instructed it lasts a long time too, I rarely go off the beaten track without it.

Reliable Clean Water on the Trail — A True Lifesaver in Remote Places
The LifeStraw delivers exactly what it promises: safe, clean drinking water from sources you wouldn’t normally trust. The initial flow rate was excellent, though it slowed noticeably after just a few uses. Thankfully, the included syringe makes backflushing simple and quickly restores performance when the filter clogs. Still, I would’ve given this 5 stars if it didn’t need backflushing so soon. On my recent trip through the most remote mountain pass in the UK, the Lairig Ghru, it proved invaluable. I could fill the pouch, attach the filter, and drink straight away, while also topping up bottles for my friends and me with safe water. At higher altitudes, the streams are likely safe to drink untreated, but down in the glens and valleys, that’s not the case. Having the LifeStraw gave us confidence and kept us properly hydrated throughout the journey. During the Scottish Cairn Toul–Braeriach traverse, we relied on it heavily at the Wells of Dee, where stagnant water from weeks of sunshine and little rainfall looked and smelled unpleasant. Definitely not something you’d want to drink untreated. With the filter, however, we could refill, rehydrate, and keep pushing forward to complete the hike strong. And since I’m still alive, kicking, and not glued to a toilet a couple weeks later, I’d say the filter does exactly what it promises. Thanks for surviving my long review — now go survive the wild, and don’t forget to stay safe and hydrated out there!

Love it
Works really well and love that it comes with a backwash syringe to clean it after use.

Leakage. Check the seal before you go on your trip…
Very disappointed, just started my trip abroad to India and first time using this and the seal leaks everywhere. Seems like a poor design. I am frustrated I didn’t test this before I went but wrongly assumed it would work. Now I don’t have the correct equipment for my trek. Very poor

Essential walking kit
Bought as a gift for my son and he absolutely loves it. Nice and light ad has been used extensively in the Scottish highlands, it’s the first thing he packs.

Much less plastic taste
My number one positive for the Lifestraw soft bottle is that although it does infuse a platicky taste into the water, it is much less than on any other similar bottle I have used. It is sometimes difficult to assess how effective the filter is since you do not know if you woulde have suffered had you not used it and drunk the unfiltered water. Most recently I used my Lifestraw bottle during a trip to Bolivia where tap water is generally not considered to be drinking water, with no ill effects. A minor fuss is that the filter should be wet stored, in salt water solution, when not in use. I would also like to use this bottle without the filter when I know the water is safe but the mouth piece supplied is not ideal since it is basically an open hole with nothing to stop water spilling out without the filter in place. An optional bite valve would be great.

Works Great for a Multi Day Hike
We purchased this LifeStraw squeeze bottle before our multi-day hike in Newfoundland. We debated purchasing it because we had the LifeStraw drinkable straw, a stove to boil water and tablets for purifying. We thought we had enough but had this sinking feeling this might come in handy. We're SO glad we bought it! It ended up being a staple for filling our water bottles throughout the day and getting water for cooking our meals. It was easy to fill up the bottle and squeeze the water into our camel packs and pots for cooking. So much easier to use than having to pull out the lifeStraw every time we wanted a sip of water or worry about having sediment in our pots when cooking food. Highly recommend, I think it'll become a staple of all of our camping/hiking trips!
