Great Pool Cover Reel for Water Conservation and Ease of Use
I purchased the Nollapo Aluminum Solar Swimming Inground Pool Cover Reel Set for our swimming pool, and I am genuinely impressed with its performance. The reel set has been a game-changer when it comes to covering and uncovering the pool, making it significantly easier than manually handling the cover every time. The aluminum frame is sturdy and well-built, ensuring that the reel can withstand regular use without any issues. The 14-foot size is perfect for our pool, and it fits the cover nicely, rolling it up smoothly without too much effort. The blue color is a nice touch and looks good alongside the pool. One of the main reasons we got this was for water conservation, and it has absolutely delivered. By covering the pool when it’s not in use, the cover helps reduce water evaporation significantly. This has been especially important during the warmer months, as it helps to keep the water level steady, reducing the need for constant refilling. Additionally, we’ve noticed that it helps to maintain pool temperature, as it retains heat from the sun, making swimming more comfortable. The ease of use is another standout feature. The reel system allows us to easily roll up and store the cover when we’re ready to swim, and it can be done with just one person. It takes only a couple of minutes to remove or replace the cover, which is a huge time-saver. The reel system is smooth, and the mechanism seems to be built to last. No jams or clunky movement, which is a relief compared to some other reel systems I’ve tried in the past. Overall, the Nollapo Aluminum Solar Swimming Pool Cover Reel Set has made pool maintenance much simpler while helping us save both water and energy. It's a solid investment for anyone looking to extend their pool season and reduce water usage. Highly recommend it for anyone with an inground pool!

functions well for the price!
Pool cover reel functions very well. Easy to roll the pool cover off pool when in use. After pool cover is rolled onto the reel, we move the reel/cover to end of the pool on concrete to be out of the way, etc. It is not heavy by any means and very easily transportable with a person on each end lifting and moving, etc. Structurally it could use a bit more support We have it set at 12.8 feet, it only goes to 14 feet. The tubes should be a bit longer for our use and they should be overlapping more to provide better support overall. The velcro has the tendency to slide off and has to be slid back on from time-to-time. Overall, for the price it is a good buy.

Perfect for our pool
Works well for our pool. We have an odd shipped pool, so we did a center install and it works really well. Rolls up well and easy to roll off to the side of the pool. It was easy to install and is easy to use.

Great price (cheaper than all the others) but... floppy and difficult to build and operate.
I looked at the options on Amazon. This looked best for the price. It was not all that easy to assemble, but not extremely difficult for the average handy person with a few tools. It requires careful measurement to determine how long (wide pool) this needs to be, and my pool widens in the middle, which makes it complicated to use this with my pool cover. The white plastic clips that connect to your cover are really difficult to connect to the cover! I thought they'd be easy to snap on, but... it was tough to snap them and they keep popping off! Worst of all, when you roll the handle to roll up the cover, the entire reel flops around, hops up and down, and doesn't stay in place as you roll the cover in. Further, the reel would prefer to roll into the pool instead of rolling the cover OUT of the pool! It needs to be securely fastened to your pool deck or at least put some cement blocks or something heavy on the feet of the reel to keep it in place while rolling the cover up on it. Likewise, when I pull the cover off the reel, the reel wants to jump in the pool instead of unrolling the cover! I hope you have better luck.

Easy to assemble, works great!
This arrived last night and I put it together by myself this morning in a couple of hours. The directions are just pictures but it has a URL for a video. The only thing that is not clear in the directions (both written and video) are the assembly of the tubes. I put it together but it was too long, so I closed the gap in the center section until It was the length I wanted. Then I drilled a 3/16" hole through the existing hole into the pipe underneath and put the screw in. Afterwards there were 4 exposed holes on the pipes on the outside with no corresponding holes on the inside. There were also 4 extra screws. As I wanted it to be more sturdy I again drilled 3/16" holes and put the screws in. Also, the video tells you that you need to slide the clips onto the pipes before you put them together. That is not true as you can can put them on the smaller diameter pipes through the end and the larger diameter pipes from the edge of the pipe. The reel works really well. It is exactly what I needed.

Poorly Designed and Built – Major Failure in Under 3 Months
Failed in less than three months. The wheel that rolls up the pool cover — a key component subjected to a moderate amount of force during use — cracked completely at the center hub, rendering the entire reel system unusable. As you can see in the attached image, the plastic at the core of the wheel cracked under normal use. This isn’t a minor cosmetic issue — it’s a total structural failure. The forces exerted on a pool cover reel during rolling and unrolling are significant, and it’s clear this system was not designed to handle them. The material is flimsy, brittle plastic with no reinforcement where it matters most. This kind of failure reveals more than just a bad part — it speaks to poor engineering and cheap manufacturing across the entire reel system. If the wheel failed this quickly, I have no confidence in the longevity of the other components. For the price, I expected something functional and durable — not a disposable piece of plastic that collapses under basic stress. Avoid this product unless you’re okay replacing it mid-season or rigging up your own reinforcement. The concept is fine, but the execution is seriously flawed.

The item arrived in a bubble wrap envelope and the item itself is in a plastic bag. It is exactly as described, good quality materials and works well. Recommend

Wellllll... it is doing the job in these early days having only had this for about 5 weeks. I'm not sure it will hold up long term. Only some of the screw holes attaching the roller bar pieces were drilled out - not sure if it was mewnt to be a pressure lock.. but a few screws that didnt have holes have fallen out. The feet and wheeled feet arent what id call sturdy. The 90s model where the wheels just sat in feet on the ground is a sturdier design. Now the wheeled feet is nice to roll around the cover - assuming you uave the swing space to roll it around.
