Waste of Space
Perhaps my husband is simply too frail to use this contraption. It was a complete waste of money in my humble opinion. Apparently, I am unable to return it for a refund. So, double disappointment.

I find it very useful, it will not suit everybody
I loaf in front of the telly on a very low sponge bag [like a bean bag] and normally have to roll off onto my hands and knees then stand up from there.I’ve got this thing looped around a table leg and can now pull myself straight up without all the scrambling around.I suggest that:1 This thing is only useful for those on their own if they both have a strong point to loop it around and have the strength to put themselves upright.2 This thing is only useful for those with a helper if both they have the strength to hang on while they are being pulled up and the helper has the strength to pull them up.Where conditions 1 or 2 can be met, I think this thing is worthwhile.Where conditions 1 or 2 cannot be met, I think this thing is not useful. You could test the idea out before purchase by gripping onto a strong piece of wood such as a 1 inch thick broom handle. If the broom handle test proves successful then I think this thing will be better because it has a better shape for gripping on to.It’s strong and seems durable.

Jury is out.
My mum needs help standing and has care to assist her. Sometimes, that's me.This device has been tried a handful of times by myself and others, so it is still new to everyone. Feedback is so far is mixed. One issue is how active the one being assisted is; so, if tired or weak, they may need more help as the one being lifted must still have a reasonable grip on the their half of the stand aid. However, I lean toward this being on balance helpful, as it seems to shift the stress of assisted lift away from the hands and arms of both parties and, to some extent, the lower back of the lifter. That stands to reason if you have a basic grasp of lifting techniques, as the motion is now a curl at the arms rather than a bent-over row.So, this is in the early days, and this is a holding review to which I can add further experience, with my first impression being that I think this could be useful.
