It has given no trouble at all and it is faster than the wall warts that come with the batteries. It has a fairly bright blue backlight, but the engineers very thoughtfully turn it off so you can keep it in the bedroom and not lose sleep. It doesn't cook the batteries, they never get past warm, so the battery management is very good. When charging is over, it says FULL and gives independent status on each battery. I like that.
