Nyko Power Pak - 5000 mAh rechargeable battery pack with built-in Kickstand for Nintendo Switch - Ony for Switch 1, quill not fit Switch Lite or Switch 2

SO AWESOME! I was able to play during an entire flight and while I waited in the airport for my plane to arrive! This charging case basically does what it says it does! It doubles the battery life! I've been using it for a few months now and have noticed no issues with it aside from the case's lights not turning on to indicate it's charge level (it still works perfectly though) The one downside for people who might be sitcklers for the original feel of the switch is the weight that it adds on to it. This doesn't bother me though because as long as it charges my switch I don't care!

This review is focused on mobile/handheld play of the Switch: CONS: - L shaped headphone jack doesn't fit into the Switch with this battery attachment on. The amount of space it provides around the headphone blocks the jack from going in all the way. Haven't tried other headphones other than these cheapies. The Nyko power oak should have made the hole bigger or a different shape to accommodate different headphone jacks, or at least included an adapter. - Doesn't "click" or "snap" onto the switch very easily: The battery attachment is actually 2 parts that connect near the top of the switch, the bottom has the plug in and the top secures the whole thing to the back of the switch. I have the Skyrim Switch console skin attached and not sure if it is because of the skin but this battery attachment needed me to push both pieces together with more than normal effort in order for it to join together and stay on the Switch. When it attaches, it didn't click for me, it felt like I had to force it to engage the two little "locks" on the back. When I attach the 2 pieces together WITHOUT the switch, they "click" together. - Doesn't automatically start charging the Switch when the battery is less than 100% - Users have to press the small button on the back of the battery attachment to get it to start charging. Nyko's other power pak chargers, like for the 3DS, automatically tops off the device without the need of user interaction. Would have been nice to include this, and let the players only press the button to check on the battery level indicators. - No grip or effort towards making it easier to hold for mobile/handheld play - The Nyko Power Pak is basically a flat piece of plastic. Would have been nice to put some type of raised areas for better palm/finger gripping. Other Nyko power pak products have done this (3DS again, and even Vita). As other reviewers have pointed out, this power pak won't fit into a case anyway, so why not mold it better in the back for improved grip during handheld use? PROS: - Kept my Switch at 100% (when power pak was activated) while playing Skyrim for more than a few hours. I'm sure performance could differ between users based on various factors (game, screen brightness, etc). So, definitely delivers on extra juice for your Switch - Can be charged with the charger included with the Switch while still attached. - Easy to take off. Push the two lock/buttons on the back and the top will un-click - Includes an extra USB to C charge cord (good for external chargers or charge directly from your laptop) - Reasonable price for what it is

This is potentially a great product and it does exactly what it says. It will double your battery life without the need for charging cable and external battery pack. But here are some cons: - Kickstand doesn't want to stay close. The closing mechanism is pretty bad. It also look flimsy, but still way better than the built-in kick stand, which is horrible. - Does add weight, you won't feel it at first but eventually you will and you'll start resting it on your lap more without realizing it. - Would love to have the battery charge the switch without having to press a button. I know most battery cases do this, but this just adds one more thing to remember, and my 4 year old won't and complain that the switch is dead. - It's undockable. One of the greatest things about the switch is the ability to quickly switch between mobile play and TV-console play. This takes that away completely. You must remove the battery pack to dock the switch. This can easily be solved if they made a TV dock that is compatible with this case. But I doubt the USB-C port on the side of battery will pass along the TV signal. Also since it's on the side, it won't be a simple drop-in mechanism. - The opening for the cartridge hatch is also pretty tight so it s bit harder to swap cartridge. - Not it's fault, but my switch no longer fits in my travel case. This all I have after a day with it. It sounds a lot like nitpicking, but the fact that still gave it a 4 star shows I much I still like it, because, again, it does exactly what it says it would. One cool thing this case does is that it allows non-standard cables. I use these magnetic USB cables (kinda like the Apple Mag-Safe). These don't seem to work when I plug it straight into the Switch even with Adaptive Fast-Charge adapter. But when I plug into the battery case, it charges both just fine which is really nice. I'll update if I find anything else worth noting.

This thing is amazing. Some of these people who's reviews I read were probably unlucky or don't know how to use it. First, my kickstand doesn't ever just pop off unless there is a good amount of force applied. Secondly, another review says the charging port is blocked when the joycons are on. That is because he has joycon covers on. It does take a while to charge but I don't mind. People, keep in mind that this is a travel accessory. It's not meant to be kept on 24/7. So there's no complaint about why it needs to fit in the dock with it on. If you are out a lot or travel a lot this is a great investment. I love mine and it does a great job of what it's supposed to do. It's sleek, has a little weight but nothing extreme and works great. I'd recommend this

Its was very slick in design, keeps the switch in portable mode for more than double the time, doesn't even weigh anything at all, the kickstand on it isn't the very best but it works ok personally I think the kickstand could be much better quality and less flimsy, this power pack is what kept me alive on a very long road trip with it extended battery life Overall Well Done

The battery itself works fine, but the kickstand fell apart in a matter of days. I had high hopes that buying this thing would not only give me extra juice, but also give me a portable kickstand that worked. Instead, within days, the kickstand connection came apart. I already have other batteries that I can use with my Switch, so the key selling point of this product was that it was fully self-contained. With a kickstand this flimsy, I'd say Nyko should try again. The battery itself is also nothing to call home about. I have batteries that are similar in size and literally more than 4x the juice, so it doesn't win many points in my book just for being a competent battery. It's disappointing because I generally like Nyko's third-party accessories, but this is the *second* Switch battery accessory from them that failed for me.

Bought it to add some extra time when using the switch out of the dock. Works really well. Charges fairly quickly and gives the switch another few hours of gameplay. Isn’t overly large or uncomfortable. Fits the switch perfectly and almost feels like nothing is there. Would recommend.

This performs its primary purpose well (charging), so no complaints on that front. However, this thing charges incredibly slowly. Like multiple hours just to go from 50-100% charge. This is because it doesn't support any form of USB-PD, just the base USB 2.0 specification of 500 mA. If you do the math, that's 10 hours to fully charge from 0% (though I doubt this pack is actually 5000 mA). The other issue is poorly though out tolerances. Anything but the thinnest headphone jack will not fit. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pro's, and in order for them to fit, I had to file away quite a bit of material around the opening for the headphone jack. The kickstand is also completely useless (just like the V1 Switch's built-in kickstand), and it doesn't clip into place whatsoever, just flops around. I used a dab of superglue just to hold it closed because it isn't useful in the first place.

Plutôt bien même si un peu lourd. L'essentiel est que ça apporte un vrai gain de temps de jeu donc je recommande, en plus c'est pas vraiment cher

I bought this for my OLED without realising its not meant for the OLEED, HOWEVER it still fits around the OLED other than the gabs at the top, but not really a major issue if you're not using wired headphones or constantly changing games, it still charged the OLED perfectly without any issues and holds charge for a long time, great product 👍 I'll read descriptions better next time!

Definitely helps keep the switch alive on long plane rides, where it would normally die. Not sure how much more life I was able to gain, but up to 5 hours I think.
