LIke others have said...can't believe I'm leaving a review for a gas can, but....if you are like me and have been dealing with plastic cans over the years then this is a huge upgrade. Did I pay $15 dollars more for this 2 gallon metal can than I did for my last 1 gallon plastic can? Yes. Is it 10x better? Yes.Here's the deal. The handle that operates the cap is indeed plastic. But it's bulk and construction is more than adequate for it's intended purpose. I suppose if you dropped a bowling ball or a heavy box on it, it could break. But otherwise it's fine. The rest is solid metal construction, including the pin that fixes the plastic handle to the cap.The funnel works just fine but could easily be omitted in favor of a stand alone funnel if you want. For my needs, filling my lawn mower, it works just fine. Takes about 5 seconds to remove or install. Just make sure you press it down all the way to the can so the lid closes properly.Some complain it does not have an air intake for smooth dumping of fuel. This is true. For my needs it's not an issue. Simply lift can, insert funnel into mower, then lightly lift the cap with the handle. Close handle before tipping back upright and there is no residual fuel to leak back around the funnel connection area to the cap.Now if you need to dump the entire contents quickly into something like a dirt bike, I would simply drill a 1/'4'' hole in the top and plug it with a rubber grommet/cap you can source from Ace Hardware or wherever. That way you could remove the cap and dump the entire contents without issue.Love it. It's too bad I am so excited about a simple can. It's really just a throwback to the way they used to be made for generations, but with a compliant funnel and self closing lid.Buy it! Dump the plastic can.

These cans are still the nicest ones I’ve found. They don’t leak, don’t spill when pouring. I can fill them up and there isn’t fuel leaking out in my truck, or when sitting on the cement in a building, or in my work trailer.

Purchased after watching project farm on YouTube. Love the can, easy to pour, empties fast. The built in funnel is great. Only gripe is with diesel, you just need to fill the can slowly as diesel froths up and you can't see the level as it fills. I just watch pump and put 3 gallons in and let it sit then slowly fill it up the rest of the way. No regrets.

This is so much better than the plastic cans that you have to replace every 6 months. It is a little annoying to take off spout for filling. But overall easier to pour gas and the can will last longer than plastic. Definitely recommend.

I have 8 gas and 4 diesel eagle cans, I just keep adding more. They are my go to can. One can is an older one with the fancy coil spout which is neat but the plastic spouts are great on their own and can double as a funnel for anything in a pinch. Pours very fast, no ridiculous modern "safety"spouts that break and or spill everywhere.One benefit to these cans over my Jerry cans is that these aren't prone to tipping over when I'm just driving around my farm and typically don't need to strap them down in that scenario.

This can is metal and has a safety valve to prevent the can from exploding. I had a plastic can explode in my car trunk and that is dangerous..This gas can is compelely safe.Another Great Product From Amazon.

Item arrived crushed in on both sides. The packaging box was intact so likely shipped out already damaged!

UPDATE: July 12, 2019I saw this was being offered again and at a slightly lower price so I jumped on it one more time. Upon arrival, the canister was dented in different places. These are small dents and doesn't appear to have been from shipping as the box was fine.It appears to be manufacturing quality issue and I am highly disappointed at how this cannot be put together perfectly from the factory given the expensive price.I initially requested a replacement this time, but now have second thoughts on receiving a third item dented in yet another place. So I just cancelled the replacement and requested a refund.Looking elsewhere from another manufacturer.-----ORIGINAL REVIEWCould have been better packaged and handled. Arrived with a glaring big dent and a small one.Metal handle had two rust areas that was unpainted or paint had chipped.Handle to open the canister spout is plastic.Returned.
