Excellent piece of carry on luggage
Bought this for a trip to Canada and not being a seasoned traveller wasn't quite sure what to get but this was spot on. Light weight but robust and spacious, it has at least three different ways of being carried: as a case, a rucksack or from the top. Two roomy pockets at the front are accessed by the excellent large zip pulls that feature on all external zips and avoided fumbling around for passports and boarding passes on a number of occasions.Inside are two main areas and a pocket separated by zipped panels to keep everything contained. I had trouble filling the bag and keeping within the 10kg weight limit as there was more than enough room. I ended up packing three pairs of shoes, three books, a chopping board that we'd bought as a souvenir, plus tablet, chargers and other bits and bobs and still had room. The only minor criticism I would have is that there could be more small pockets for phones, chargers, change, etc, but this is a small point. For the money I'm very pleased and look forward to more travels with it.

A really good cabin bag
I was so very glad I had chosen to buy this and bring it on holiday. I packed a combination of clothes and electronic items in it such as clothes on one side and cameras, cables, battery, GoPro etc on the other. Each side has a zipped cover to hold things down. The bag coped fantastically. It doesn't have any rigid frame but that was never an issue. I ended up repacking during my holiday so that my day to day items were packed in here and I could get at them easily. Its great to be able to carry this bag as a rucksack if your hands are taken up carrying suitcases. I was also initially concerned about carrying a big bag into the cabin but it isn't one of the largest cabin bags I've seen people taking into the cabin so it doesn't look enormous, and the airline check-in staff never asked to weight it or look at it. Its highly likely we will use this cabin bag again even if I don't have so much to take with me next time. It enables you to carry an extra jumper or coat if your suitcase ran out of room. I love it!

Nice bag for use on weekends away or business trips
I have owned this bag for a number of months, it's travelled with me on three separate occasions the longest a business trip for a week and I have found it adequate for the task I needed it to perform. The cargo area is a single large open area with a net cover which zips into place, holding your clothing securely in place, there is also a area in the lid for small or flat items. The construction is fairly sturdy with two suitcase type handles and rucksack type straps which makes it easy to carry on your back even when fully loaded (and I have for an extended period of time on a city break). The grey orange colours make the bag look ultramodern. The front pockets are useful for placing items that need to reached quickly although with the soft shell, shoes and other heavier items can interfere by pushing against the wall of the bag creating difficulty in pushing items deep into the pockets especially the lower one. There is a laptop pouch on the rear of the bag, which I also found useful to hold those all important travel documents. If packed with care, the bag can easily carry a weeks worth of shoes, clothing and other items, something I have easily done and still been able to place easily into those cabin bag testing frames found at airports now. Even the churlish of airlines struggle to find reasons to stop you taking the bag in the cabin. It's not all good though, the security of the bag has very poor security provision, the cords supplied attached to the external zip are stuck into plastic hoops. A padlock can be looped through the cords, but they are in no way strong enough to with stand a sharp tug. One of the plastic covers became detached the first time I pulled a zip closed., requiring a repair. The rear pouches would be open to some sly unzipping and surreptitious probing by the unscrupulous. Still, if your looking for a convenient well presented cabin bag I would recommend, just don't let leave your site if you have anything of minor value in it

A great cabin backpack
I had bought a similar bag for my daughter and loved it so much, I purchased this for myself. I used it recently for a five day break in Spain and it was able to accommodate all I needed. The two pockets at the front held all paperwork while the two zipped inner compartments were more than plentiful to hold my clothes, shoes books etc. There is a zipped laptop compartment at the back of the bag which was useful for other bits and pieces. The bag sits comfortably when carried - padded shoulder straps - which enabled me to have my hands free. It's well made and I'm looking forward to taking it on many more trips

Great light cabin bag to hold a lot of clothes
I needed a travel bag that would be easy to carry, light, fit the restrictions on carry on baggage and hold a good amount of clothes. This bag really fits the bill for all these requirements. The bag has shoulder straps so can be worn as a backpack and a handle on the top and sides so can be carried as a suitcase too this makes it very versatile when travelling to and around the airport. The case is light as it has no wheels or pull along handle though without the normal hard frame the bag can be a bit floppy! I was flying on easyJet and checked their requirements first on my return flight due to the number of passengers on the flight they wanted all wheelie cases in the hold having it as a backpack allowed me to keep the bag in the cabin.

good value for money
Pros: Very light weight, compact and spacious, good value for money. Cons: straps are padded but nowhere near as comfy as my last carry-on backpack (which lasted me 30 years), interior sections do not look as though they will last. WTF?: strange shallow and open top (no zip or fastener) 'pockets' on the strap side for valuables!!

like it, bought one for each of us, here's a few more details
I love the design of this backpack. Although I have not used yet (can't wait to try it out!), I wanted to write this review to disclose a few more details not obvious to me from the pictures.Firstly, this our 2nd Cabin Max model ... the previous one opened up on the end more like a backpack would, which made it "floppier" and needed more space to manage packing/unpacking. I started looking for a replacement as our current model has started ripping near the top zipper, no doubt due to the weight we subject it to :-)- this model does not have side cinch straps/clasps (you can tell this from the pictures), so our only concern is how that might put stress on the zippers, but since this model has divided the main compartments almost in half, maybe it won't be a problem.- the 2 main compartments are approx 3" deep and 4" deep. we can pack 4 small packing cubes in each compartment if we don't over-stuff the cubes.- We like how the entire bag is squared (i.e. not tapered at the top), so it makes better use of the packing size- the orange square on the mesh enclosure on one of the main compartments is itself a pocket- the 2 front pockets have no way to lock (one-way zipper with one pull), so i would not put anything important in there.- the top front pocket goes all the way down to the bottom (before receiving it, i thought maybe the top pocket ended where the bottom pocket began). I point this out because items could bunch at the bottom from both pockets. The top front pocket accommodates dimensions of folders nicely, but again, I would not want to put important documents in there- the back zippered pocket goes also all the way down to the bottom, and this pocket can be secured (2 way zipper with 2 pulls)- the back also has 2 small open compartments (one on each side), the picture shows putting a passport in there, but I would not put anything important since they are not secure (not even velcro to close the flap). And as much as I love lots of pockets, not sure what i would put in them.- dimensions: the description lists (converted to inches) 19.7h x 15.75w x 7.9d this width would exceed airline rules. I got slightly different measurements when measuring seam-seam, and when i fully stuffed the main compartments (leaving outside pockets empty), my width measured 14.5w, and depth 10", still outside the official dimensions, but my carry-ons always are LOL. Not a concern on most planes, but i fly out of a small airport, so have to pay close attention. The weight is completely accurate. My first bag came with one of the front pockets not sewn completely correctly (it missed the stitching by a small amount, exposing the foam padding behind it), but this is easily stitched. We really like this design and think it's a big improvementUpdate: we just returned from a 1-month long trip (4 countries, multiple hotels/transfers in each country) and this bag held up very well. We did check-in 1 bag once, and it withstood the rigors of baggage handlers. When loaded, it stands upright well. Love the organization, very efficient. The back secured flap is great for folders and largish tourist books or artwork. For the inside area, I used 4 small packing cubes on one side, and on the other side, an eagle creek garment folder + shoes ... with this arrangement and with the zippered dividers, nothing shifted on the inside. Even fully stuffed, it was easy to zipper closed. It is comfortable to wear on the back and the design distributes the weight evenly. Having 2 handles makes it easy to maneuver. Fits well in the overhead airplane racks, even in the smallest of planes (full but not overstuffed). Did not try to store under the seat, but imagine it would do fine as long as not overstuffed. So impressed, we just ordered 2 more as backups for when these wear out.update 2018/07/14 we have now carried these bags on a total of 5 full months of carryon travel, and they are holding up nicely, and we often carry more than the airline weight limit (i.e. hard for us to get under 25 lbs). We checked a bag once, and it had no issues thru baggage handling. the zippered inside area stretches nicely and hasn't ripped yet with our overstuffing. very impressed. we bought 2 more as backups and thinking about another 2 before it is no longer available. The only design change I would make is the front pockets ... make the whole front 3 different pockets, ending where the previous one started ... i.e. everything shifts to the bottom right? then the front becomes bottom bulging if both pockets are used.

Ottimo zaino

A definite MUST for any traveler!
Im never going back to a regular backpack ever, after buying this! I just used this on a Canadair CRJ200 (aka tiny airplane!) and it was so satisfying to be able to slip this in the overhead bin so easily. I just had to slip it in sideways and it was good to go. I used 3 compression packing cubes in various sizes but just placed them in the one side of the bag. What I fit in this backpack: packed 5 t-shirts, 3 shorts, 2 tanks, 3 bras, 5 undies, 4 pairs socks, 1 pair flip flops, 1 pair military boots, 1 military uniform, belt, hat, laundry bag, toiletry bag, electronic cords, 12" Surface pro laptop, and other knick knacks.I took this for a 7 day trip, and could have brought more clothes, but didn't want to overstuff it. The outer pockets on the front are useful, as well as the backside "laptop" pocket. It's gigantic, and pretty sure you could fit a 15" laptop along with it's charging cord. Only problem is that it's not a super padded pocket, so you will feel anything stuck in that pocket digging into your back.Things I wish it had: compression straps for squeezing it together a little more so the items inside don't shift as much. Because I had some room left, things inside shifted a little more. I could buy straps myself and solve the problem, but still. I also think it would be nice to have better stowing option for the shoulder straps. I honestly never needed to stow the straps when outing the bag in the overhead bin or anything, but I imagine it would be a nice option. So that is it, love it, will never use my 511 tactical backpack for traveling again. This is so much easier, I got off my plane faster because I didn't have to gate check my carry on. Traveling with only carry on has been made a breeze!!
