Just as good as the competition and the best value. I use allot of Traeger products but just don't want to pay them the extra $$ for their butcher paper.

I tested this out on a 15lb (12.5 trimmed) slab of brisket. Smoked to 150, and then wrapped in this paper for the remaining cook to 203.I am well familiar with the results from one of the other "standard" peach butcher papers with design prints on the paper, versus the others that are just plain paper. I wanted to see how this compared.In terms of width, 18" seems to be the standard. I have learned to wrap my brisket at an angle to be able to capture the juices as it smokes. The Cave Tools paper seemed just BARELY thicker in the sense that it was just a tad bit harder to fold the folds under the meat. By the same token though, once tucked, this also seems to be slightly more secure when I move the meat back to the smoker. I will caveat by saying, every slab of meat is different, so what I'm stating above is purely what I perceived that day. It could be that they are exactly the same thickness, and that I simply had a slightly different shape of meat that didn't allow folding as easily.once smoked, the paper performed comparably to the other peach butcher paper. It was able to hold a considerable amount of the juices inside the fold, but the paper also expectedly took on a lot of the moisture and oil to give it that oil paper look.I think this may be the part that I like most about these printed (but still 100% food safe) papers. They make for really great presentation when you're done cooking. I don't need to transfer the cut meat onto a serving plate, it looks amazing just put back onto the butcher paper, and has the graphics to enhance the presentation. Afterwards, I pack the leftover (there was none in this case), and roll up the paper to throw away for easy clean up!overall, it definitely serves all the "functional" aspects of the butcher paper for your BBQ/Smoker needs. On top of that, the printed graphics put it right up there at the top in terms of value for your slight premium for that added touch. The draw back is, if you really don't care about the looks, and just purely want it for the functionality of it, there are cheaper options that can fullfill those needs.
