Getting in TTouch with Your Horse: Understand and Influence Personality Paperback – April 1, 2009

This is an awesome book that tells you how you can say what the horses carachter, temperament and personality are. Yes, you can actually "read" at a horses personality just by looking at him! The book provides every little thing to consider when you want to tell everything about your horse: like how do ears, front legs, back legs, bumps, head shape, head size, eye shape and size, nose, mouth, lips, and chin influence personality, potential and performance. In the end of the book there also are some horse faces pictured, so you can practice telling their personality correctly. Plus this is not only some imaginary stuff, it really works. I have tried to "indicate" the personality of all of my horses before starting g to work with them- and I really did! Everything I would've learned about my horses in training now, I already knew from the beginning! This book is really awesome defiantly worth the money!

Uncannily accurate and helpful even for the experienced horsemen. I purchased with the ultimate training book by her, and they really need to be purchased in a pair to get the most from either book. I would ad this book to any horse persons shelf and I am grateful to have it on mine! If you are looking more for massage and actual TTouch exercises just get the Ultimate Training guide as it is the one that actually breaks down and explains TTouch. If you are getting this book to read horses profiles and learn more about distinguishing characteristics and what they can explain about your horses temperament this is the book for you. Do not buy if you are looking for the massage techniques that is the ULTIMATE book. Sorry to repeat so many times lol but the title on this book is a little misleading and I want people to order what they want. Because of the TTouch in the title, it CAN be misleading - this is not a book that teach specific TTouch techniques - there are other titles that do that.This book focuses on the phrase after the colon in the title: Understand and Influence PersonalityAnd that it does - with illustrations, both drawn and photographs from a variety of angles to judge a horse's conformation and help determine personality, and develop an understanding of the horse at some level with a short inspection of physical attributes.If you are thinking of purchasing a new horse, or just are interested in getting another perspective of understanding on your own horse's quirks and traits - get this book and you will not be disappointed.

Love Linda Tellington-Jones' methods of showing and allowing the horse to learn rather than teaching through restriction and enforcement. You end up with a better partner when you use love and understanding. Doesn't make you inefficient or vulnerable, the animal sees you as no threat. One of my horses is very stubborn because she is afraid of everything. Through Linda's methods this mare has become my best friend. There are a lot of pictures to help you understand the teachings. A great book.

When buying this e-book, I thought it was a relatively new achievement by Tellington-Jones. But this is from 1990'ies and deals with interpretation of the conformation of horses' heads in relation to their mental character. Of course a horse' general conformation is essential for its abilities, but to thonk that the form of the chin is mirroring the intelligence of the horse, seems crap to me, at least when there is no discussion og WHY this is so. Anyway it is a fun book, and somehow also historically interesting.

I was skeptical about discovering personality in facial features and whorls on horses. It sounded like equine phrenology, however I had read and used some of Tellington's other training tips so checked this book out from the library...numerous times. I had to buy it because she is absolutely correct. Mind boggling actually. I say this with confidence as I have owned several hundred horses over the past 48 years. Terrific book for the serious horse lover.

Linda Tellington- Jones has given her whole life to animals by way of teaching us humans to see their energy. This book is MOST informative, it's scope is HUGE, she wants us to really see the horse (s), and the information is methodically and clearly presented, packed with good photographs and line drawings. I will use this book for life. Thank you LTJ again and again for all your work.

I learned so much from this great book.... I live in the country and while I ride my bike six months of the year, I stop wherever I see horses and feed them some carrots and apples and let them know that they are such great animals to admire.... I am too old to own a horse, but wanted to learn more about these wonderful creatures and loved that book, from Clo in Beauce

I have used the Tellington Touch on our horses for years and always had success. Linda knows her stuff and it works. I have purchased the book many times to give as a gift to equine students at our ranch.

Breaks down all the info easily and it is so correct in the findings. LOVE this book and my mother has stolen it from me to read as well
