I was out using my Dewalt saw the other day and while making a cut I thought how good of a tool it has been. I must have had it a bit over 20 years now. Well, that completely jinxed me. Later that day when I was cleaning up, I picked it up off the bench by the black handle and it snapped completely off. My hand was suddenly not holding any weight, so it and the black handle went flying up and slammed into my forehead. The entire yellow portion of the handle had cracked in several places and was barely hanging on. I started to use the knot on my head as an excuse to get a new saw, but decided to see if there were any replacement parts available. There were lots of options here on Amazon, but I landed on this one and am very satisfied. It seems like a very sturdy replacement and it fit perfectly. It wasn’t a hard repair but it was a little tedious. Plan for about 25-30 mins of work and take pics before you tear the old one apart too far. You’ll need to untie the neutral wire and pull the four wires off of the switch inside the old handle. Those wires all go down into the motor through a hole in the handle, so they all need to be disconnected, fed through, and then reconnected. No biggie, just make sure you know what wire went where! You will need a Torx (“star”) driver set also to get the screws out/in. If I recall correctly, it took 4 different sizes of bits to get it all done, so add a Torx set to your list if needed!

Fits and works just as the OEM did. The OEM last about 15 years before it broke. If this one last the same, I will call it as good or better. As far as fit and function. it installed just as the original. It even seems very similar to the original. It is a tad tight around the switch area. I had to loosen the screws a tad to keep the switch from getting stuck when you press it. A little sanding or just allow it to wear some should fix that. Other than that, all is great.

Perfect fit, all the factory screw holes and wire channels are there. Worked fine with my factory trigger. Take a pic of the wire layout so you can replicate it in the new handle. The only part that was kinda time consuming was re running the wires through the new handle. There are many copies of this handle on Amazon, I recommend this one.

Fits properly in the DeWalt. No problems working fine.

Works as it should. I had baling wire and epoxy holding my miter saw handle together for about 10 years before a friend suggested I add some duct tape for good measure or just buy a replacement handle. This replacement seems pretty close to OEM.
